Please help i upgraded to windows 10 pro x64 1511 and i now CANNOT drag and drop ANY FILES into programs like FL STUDIO 12, WAVELAB, ETC..ETC.ET.C..!!! please help 1000 point to whoever can help -extreme frustrated person ;( i can live without drag and drop but it IS MY LIFE! espeically being able to drag and drop audio files directly into the playlist in fl studio.

 

Just don't run your god damn fl studio as administrator. If something runs as admin you are allow to drag n drop into it only thru another program that runs as admin. And since you can't run explorer as admin, you can't drag n drop.

 

Consider yourself lucky that your Windows X still works It's totally f*^%ed up my computer, even after I went to the trouble of doing a clean install. It did work great for a few short months though. I blame all those forced updates!

This fix will work in Windows 10 as well. It may deprive you of the stupid Windows Apps (who used that crap anyhow, I say!) but I had to do this very thing get my drop-and-drag working in Soundforge (or several programs for that matter).

Dont laugh if you still on 7, this week they secretly enabled the windows 10 update without user confirmation.
I only noticed today. In GWX.exe, which I kill when I start my pc. stated just that

 

You hit the nail right on the head.
Works the same way with any other daw.

 

They have their reasons to upgrade you!

 

in my case, the only way suits my use was that Cardamom shared EnableLUA reg tweak-dropping all modern features method.

 

Windows 10 will plant spy tools in your system,scan for illegal software and report directly to steven slate and gil bates.

 

Win 10 on a warez box is especially for idiots.

To be honest its the best looking OS to date, I like it way more than 7-x64 but the problem is that there really is no solution to the drag and drop issue without seriously disabling core functionality of the Os..or so it seems..other than this issue i do like the OS way more than 7. For some reason i have incredible audio SNR using the exact same sound card i used on 7 (before the upgrade) and when i mead incredible i mean -133-135 db SNR..and this is using my audigy 2 zs platinum pro from 2005..lol its true and i really cant explain it, the audio is more clear to on windows 10 then 7. Its not placibo. Also another non related problem, how the hell do install SmoothVideoProject 64 bit without an internet connection !? The only thing i could think of was download it on my netbook (32bit) and transfer folder..so its only 32 bit.. it wont let me download the 64 bit version on a 32 bit computer..USELESS!! no offline installer either ?! and no cr@ck for dimitrirender either.

i can provide a screenshot in wavelab clearly showing this, and hearing is believing to..not trolling man, its never happened to me before, the only thing i can think of is that it has something to do with cubase 5, becasue it takes control over the sound card drivers and i checked allow other programs to take complete control of the audio device. (in the sound playback options) all noise instantly disappears and goes down to float between 133-135 db. yes i am well aware of the standard 108 db SNR ;) no idea how it works for me but it does, so i roll with it.

 

Yeah im loving the absolute 0 noise. someone else try it. im curious if microsoft did something to the core of windows 10 audio drivers and improved it from 7. btw the card has always got me where i wanted. its fine for what i need it for. i mix in the box most of the time so its fine/fast with my i7-4790k. there are more expensive sound cards out there tho, thats for sure! to be honest i have no intention of upgrading, especially now.

 

Oh just so you know im using non standard audio drivers (latest daniel-K) not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not. Its also known as the audigy support pack.

 

I been using Windows 10 before it was even public in beta trials. I dont seem to have problems with it....and there is software out there to disable all the spyware crap they bloated it with.
