There will never be Windows 9.
After Win 8.1 is Win 10.
    Win 10 is super-improved, super-fixed and newly-featured Win 8.1))
You can call it Win 8.2

Maybe Windows 9 has a name too close to Windows 8, the latter being a fail for a big chunk of Windows users. Or maybe they consider that this update is too big to add just +1 to Windows 8. Anyway, I personally never had problems working with 8 on desktop PC. I don't consider is Microsoft's fault. For years lots of users were complaining about windows being "boring" after each update. When Microsoft gave them something really cool and innovative, the users were like "aaah, we want the boring back". Offtopic: More or less the same is happening these days with Apple: after years and years of users askign for a bigger screen for the iPhone, now many of them want the old small size back. So these companies are really listening, but the users are so f-d up sometimes...

Do not know is it fresh system syndrome, but this thing seems quicker than 8.1,better response overall,8.1 was freshly installed before 2 weeks or something, writing from it right now, gonna test it more, hated charms,do not care about start button, must try what is new yet, cool.

Actually Win 7 is version 6.1, Vista was version 6.0, Win 8 is version 6.2 and Win 8.1 is version 6.3.

The actual release version has nothing to do with the windows name numbering :)

I would still like it more if it was called Windows X. History is one of my hobbies, especially Roman Empire... Greeks, and British Empire, so I find Roman numbers cool. *yes* However, I guess they don't want to risk being sued by Apple.

It's nice to see Windows go back to the W7 GUI, somewhat, but this start menu is way too big now with these W8 "remnants". There should be an option to completely turn the stupid W8 tiles off as they are really completely unnecessary. What were they thinking? Oh I forgot that corporate heads find it really hard to think, except when there's money at stake. So maybe it's got something to do with the money? Whatever the problem, just trace the money... :bleh:

I can't wait to give it a whirl, as I mentioned in the other thread about W9 then. All I'm asking and looking for is more optimisation, more efficient processing, and lower latencies on the audio side.

    Cheers :mates: !

I think the most interesting thing about Windows 10 is that they are using variants of the same OS across all of their devices, including phones. One OS for everything.
