    Hi Guys,

Recently i have installed Windows 10 in my new HP laptop with specifications as i7-6700HQ, 16 GB, 2 TB.
My primary DAW is Fl Studio. After installing Windows 10, i feel that my master audio is being squashed, so i need to lower the master fader by few more DBs. But for my same project in different PC there is no such feeling.

Has anybody other have faced the same issue, and is there anyway to solve it.

I have already tried the same project with different soundcards still i can feel that my audio is being squashed.
Also i cannot find the Enhancements
Tab in sound properties and I have also switched between ASIO, FL ASIO, Stenberg ASIO, WDM audio and apart from this i do not use any compressor or limiter on my master channel.

    Please Help!

No such problem here. I don't think that could be win 10 fault. Maybe audio interface drivers...

Nothing new here,Win 10 is called Squasher in the pro community.
First it squashes your rights, then your balls and then your audio card drivers.
Its like wearing jeans that are way too f-ing tight, but you still do because you think you look like a cool mofo.

When in doubt, just null it with your Win7 render.

WIN 10 works like a charm here, even in my secondary rig with and old 2009 dualcore t9600 intel. The main rig is a i7 6700, 16gb, etc, it flows really well. My main problem was with the win10 release of november (no audio problems just some stupid stuff like slow boot and such), after installing a ssd and reinstalling win10 release before november (july 2015 release i believe so) everything runs a bit faster, especially booting.

Turn off Dolby Audio in your soundcard properties. Both in speaker and headphones should do it.

Some time ago I had similar problem with Win7 and laptop's onboard audio. All I had to do was to turn off all enhancements for audio device - simply there was a very poor limiter squashing audio badly when signal level was near maximum volume.

Most audio interfaces have problems with asio driver with Win10, you should go back to Win7 or if not possible try to see if an old release of your drivers would solve the problem (it did for me)

Yes, I'm facing the same issue.

There is no such option for me in Windows 10.
Thinking of rolling back to Windows 7.

I've done that. Not a single problem.

I don't see how can win 10 fuck up only "win 7" projects, and others don't. Makes no sense to me.

I have the same problem with Win 8.1 when using the DirectX audio driver. Sounds very brittle and compressed to hell with abysmal low end. Using ASIO4all fixes the problem... it's still beyond me though, I've tried to find the culprit, update drivers, check if there's some kind of SRC or DSP going on, with no luck. Very odd.

I'm working with a HP Laptop with a similar configuration and updated to Win 10 months ago. I do not have encountered any problems. Only difference is I work with cubase and probably use a different Interface.

What he means is make a stereo render of your project in the setup that does not feel "squashed", then make a stereo render of the same project in the setup you say "feels squashed".
Then you make a new project with just the 2 renders loaded, invert the phase on one and press play.
If the renders are indeed exactly the same, you will hear nothing, as they Null each other out.

Takes all the "i think i hear a difference" out of the equation, by showing you if there is any difference at all.
