UVI Falcon 2.8.6 R2R does not work in Win7. Hangs.
UVI Falcon 2.5.3 R2R works fine.
UVI Workstation R2R works fine.

I came across this and wondered if it might benefit anyone in this predicament.

It allows you to operate an instance of win 7 from within later versions of Windows without the need to dual boot! It just means you can enjoy all the benefits of 7, but on a win 10/11 pc.

Apologies if anyone had already mentioned this as I didn't go through all previous posts!

I seem to remember R2R saying UVI had changed something in their latest update which would cause trouble with Win7.

 

VMWare is virtualization software, you have to allocate resources from host PC, and sharing USB ports for something like audio or midi interface is basically a no-go, it's not usable for low-latency audio work at all, BUT, it can work for VEPro or AudioGridder server for older plugins

 

Not correct! Both Falcon 2.8.6 R2R and Falcon 2.5.3 R2R work fine

Same for me. Reaper for now, but I'll test on Ableton too.

 

I have paid programs that state windows 10 but still work flawless on 7. if Anything wouldn;t work I'll find something else that does.

Finally, I tested it in Windows 7 x64:

UVI Falcon v2.8.6 - works without problems
Waldorf Largo 2 v1.0.0 - works without problems
Steinberg SpectraLayers 10 v10.0.30 - can be installed, but not working

I finally worked out why UVI Falcon 2.8.6 and 3.0.1 were hanging:
I need to avoid using UI Scaling in Preferences.
Instead, I must choose 'Big Size' rather than scaling. Then it works fine!

 

Has anyone been able to get Plugin Alliance Mega Sampler to work in Win 7?
I tried the previous version last year, R2R's release. Wouldn't work.
Now I see a new version is out.

 

i finally giving up windows 7 like a month ago. i installing windows 10 lite version that does not have bloatware and then disabled windows update and windows defender. it works like a windows 7 really nice

 

Falcon 3.01 is working here on win7

I have version 1.0.0 and it kinda of works but complains about some weblibrary on startup. So the internet side of things is not working and i dont seem to see any samples from its own library. But i can load up loops to it and it works that way

All released softube works for me + the console 1 hardware (i bought used). The console 1 fader (i bought new) does not work because there is somekinda firmware update. If one could find older fader it would propably work

Iam keeping a list in this post for now on. Just installed like 700 plugins. Iam suprised i got almost everything i wanted to work ( i havent deeply tested but little bit so there must be a lot to add to the list)

Working slow:
Plugin Boutique Scaler 2 versions over 2.5 are slow (use version 2.5 to fix)
Some Excite Audio plugins like Lifeline Console (use earlier versions to fix)
ADSR Drum Machine (slow gui)

Not working:

Sonible SmartGate
Sonible SmartEQ4 (version 3 works)
Air Music - flavor pro and sprite and propably all the rest of air music
Waves from version 12 onwards (doesnt install), 11 seems to work
Vital from 1.08 onwards (very nice synth so this is loss but 1.08 is what we have)
Moog Music: Mariana , Moogerfoger, etc (installs but doesnt work)
Lunacy Audio Cube (atleast 1.5)

Not installing but works if you install to win10 machine and bring the files over to win7:
Accusonus Era Bundle 5 and 6 (bring the programdata/accusonus folder , documents/accusonus folder and the vst files with you)

Klanghelm latest plugins like tens (i just took the vst files from w10 and works)

False reports earlier
I reported some acustica plugins to not work but this was wrong, for some reason bitwig 5 did not like their default folder names

Klanghelm's latest gem Lens & Lens jr. (free edition) will not install on Win7. If you buy the big version, you will gain access to a downloadable.vst3 file in the User Area, but the jr. version only has the installer that refuses to work on any Windows version below Win8. Apparently the plugin works perfectly fine on Win7 from what I've heard from other users, but the installer won't work if it detects Win7.

 

AKAI Professional MPC last official working on Win7 version is 2.9.1

 

Samplitude Pro X8 Suite 19.1.1.23424

IMPORTANT: Requires Windows 10 or 11. Patch will not run on Windows 7

I can't confirm this because I haven't tested it yet.

 

First Samplitude Pro X8 from R2R works fine on my machine but non of the updates works so if you want to use X8 and dont care about minor fixes in those updates etc you can still use Pro X8 on win 7

 

Antares Vocal Reverb v1.0.0 CE-V.R

installs fine but refuses to appear in my DAW.

 

I had the same issue. I reinstalled and issue went away. Had issues with all the new recent Antares VR releases (Pro X 10.3.1, EFX+ 10.1, Compressor 10.1, Reverb, Unlimited 2023). Re-installation fixed all except Auto-Key 2 & Pro X 10.3.1 . Only solution was to revert back to Pro X 10.2.1 (Workstation 1) and install 10.3.1 on different workstation (workstation 2) and copy paste the AAX plug in and VST3 from Workstation 2 to Workstation 1. EXCEPT AUTO-KEY 2. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET AUTO-KEY 2 TO WORK. SO I KEPT AUTO-KEY FROM PRO X 10.2.1.
Unlimited 2023 plug ins kept crashing so I installed Unlimited 2021 and then installed VR releases individually over it. Everything works except auto-key 2

(PS YOU CAN KEEP ANY PREVIOUS ANTARES VERSION CRACKED OR LEGIT BY RENAMING THE aax PLUG IN FOLDER AND THE ACTUAL aax PLUG IN SO THAT THEY MATCH.
EXAMPLE
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Antares\Auto-Tune EFX+ 10.1.aaxplugin\Contents\x64\Auto-Tune EFX+ 10.1.aaxplugin

Can you still get Win 10 for free if you have a legit Win 7 license? And how do you get to select the light version?
