Never meant to suggest that, there's no need to be upset. I said
    (instead of ~~AltaVista~~ duckduckgo)

That was just a tangent tho, you missed the gist of my comment, that being: why bother?

and every clock tick counted, it maybe made sense. Today? Not so much.
Thanks, in part, to my friend Google, I installed LTSB (LTSC nao), didn't have to jump through hoops :)
Wait, you have an offline music box running defender? Why?
Am still at a loss as to what I should be worried about. ELI5 plox.

I really like your idea - but I'm afraid it's wrong, because the magic of swift W10 rig lies in disabling literally everything unless it's mandatory...
...and so, the correct topic and mindset should be this:
WIN10 services everybody needs on audio puter

best W10 image I've been able to find so far = Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB x64 v5 Lite by ivankehayov,

although oprekin is doing amazing work on latest Windows 10 versions, none of them is either streamlined enough, or complete enough to properly operate for my needs,

I just noticed there's a new release Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC x64 v2001 Lite by ivankehayov, will give it a try in VM, perhaps it might become my daily driver again :)

on the other hand, using regular W10 image, and doing some tweaks later using O&O ShutUp10 and restricting its networking trickery by use of NetLimiter 4 does a fairly good job on debloating W10 enough to become usable,

with all the respect and deeply understanding Windows users, even now in 2020 I'm still convinced hackintosh running MacOS (preferably High Sierra, for nVidia and 32bit apps support) is much less troublesome experience than debloating and using Windows 10, especially when it comes to audio and other video-non-demanding tasks (incl. games ofc)

    :chilling:

edit: if you wanna give a try to ivankehayov versions, make sure to get his own torrents from TPB directly, obtaining it elsewhere be aware you risk virus/scam

I am currently trying it out. It looks proper atm. As in the old version, RDP is removed and i need that (too many comps), i just don't like TeamViewer but if it works fine like the old one, i guess it may be a contender (i will just have to put up with tv ) . He had released RDP as a separate add-on for the old iso, sadly i never got to make it work.

why not use VNC instead? of what I understand, MacOS itself uses VNC and it's totally fine (especially if that's only for your personal remote access, without need for additional multi-user management etc..)

I 've tried 'em (some yrs ago tbh), the problem i had with 'em as with tv too, was the desktop res didn't conform immediately to my main monitors' res but instead they would display what ever res the remote comp(s) had set as default, which i did find annoying.
I will give all your suggestions a re-run as they might have changed this. Thnx guys :)

Does this have all telemetry removed? And does it need to be activated?

Yep. Cortana is there but only for local search, otherwise inactive. You may replace it with Everything from the get go anyway. It still has MS Store installed in case you want to install some random wallpaper etc.
    Yep, use KMS method.
PS: Oprekin has a list on what is removed and what's kept in every iso mod. Read those for more info.

FWIW, if you need to disable services to get acceptable performance in Windows 10, you probably shouldn't be using Windows 10 on your antique hardware. If your hardware isn't 5+ years old, re-read the last sentence and reconsider the part with *need*. It's been tested numerous times that it provides no real benefits.

I have been using it since the first day he posted it. No problems at all. I sent it to a couple of guys on this forum who installed it, no problems. He builds good OS. At the end of the day, it does not matter if it is the 19 or 20 because this is a built that you cant update without having to reinstall everything so it is one that will remain in your system for 2 or 3 years unless MICROFUCK comes out with an update that makes Windows 10 a dream operating system. And as you know, it is not going to happen. We have to look at this builds in the same way we looked at the Windows 7 Lite. You install it and forget about updates from MICROFUCK...unless it is something like NET or RunTime and those can be obtained individually.

thats what the jews in holland thought when they put their information into a database that the nazis later used to find them.
we dont know what tomorrow will bring. we can get a pretty good idea from looking at corruption worldwide though.

even so far, in modern western culture, we all know what has happened with our data (not mine lol) in the past when it was trusted to companies. you would have to be living under a rock to manage to ignore that.

Any W10 build that does not take advantage of the per-process FLS slot allocation ceiling increase should not be the chosen one by anyone doing DAW work.

From what i understand tzzmsk uses a combination of comps including Hackintosh networked with VEP. So most likely he doesn't care about the FLS limit. I too use VEP as well, although my Hackintosh eats dust, mostly used for testing, unless i get the occasional client with some Logic or PT project who are too bored to export their projects because of course they all think Logic and PT is the norm. To which up to an extent they are mostly right, such is the world today lol.
Still, my goal atm is to transfer it all in one huge TR3 workstation. I 've been meaning to talk about this really. Perhaps this is not the thread to do so. But to cut a long story short, whoever says you can't harness the compute power of a 24core or 32 core machine for audio production is being fooled. There are many ways around it, one of them being VEP used locally on the same DAW comp. But i will get to that on another thread perhaps.
You all be well mates, stay safe :)
