I really enjoy watching the weekly plugin top lists, but honestly — I couldn't care less about Mac. Week after week, it’s always Mac-focused, and it's starting to get exhausting.

It would be amazing if the list started with a Windows top, and then you could optionally switch to the Mac version if needed.

I used to have a Mac in the studio, but I got rid of it completely. The whole macOS ecosystem — especially with iTunes and everything — felt so inconvenient to me. I genuinely feel for people who have to use it.

Seriously though, a separate top for Windows and Mac would be a huge improvement.

Preemptively speaking, please, lets not get into yet another Mac vs Windows comment war. :beg:

As for the topic, the top list is just that, the most popular of the week, which we cannot control. Right now it is mostly Windows leaning. I don't see any problem with it as is, but you're always welcome to submit suggestions that could improve either site (not that they will be implemented, but certainly considered by the top brass, which ain't me) :winker:

I'm not trying to start a flame war — just looking for a more comfortable experience on the site.

It's a bit frustrating having to scroll through a Mac-focused top list all the time… It feels like owning a PC and being shown what's trending on PlayStation — interesting, maybe, but not really useful.

A separated top for Windows and Mac users would make things much more convenient for both sides.

Microsoft's Windows operating system achieved a market share of approximately 70.2 percent of global page views in May 2025. Apple's macOS achieved a market share of approximately 15.7 percent in the same month, and Linux operating systems achieved approximately 4 percent. The data was collected based on internet usage on desktop and notebook PCs (excluding smartphones and tablets).

Meh. Its a nonissue. Its a weekly top 7 that is always changing duh. Every time I look at it its always full of Windows or multi-os releases. Even your image shows there are more Windows releases listed than Mac. Im not a mathematician, but claiming its "Mac-focused" doesnt compute.

This is simply about keeping things organized. I'm just suggesting a more convenient solution — separating Windows and Mac into two tabs in the top list, so users can easily switch between them.

Let’s be honest — according to the stats, macOS makes up about 15%. And how many of those users are actually in music production? You can do the math yourself.

So realistically, even the cracked plugins for macOS seem to be aimed at a small, group of people.

"The only statistics you can trust are those you falsified yourself"
is a quote attributed to former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

@LuciusKing, where do you get those numbers? You don't know which of the Audioz users actually use macOS or Windows, and whether that will change. Users also die and new ones join. You'd have to survey all 8.2 billion people on Earth to get closer to the truth.

you can bookmark directly the windows section, same for the macOS section. So that you wont see either.

no need to further separate it.

I'm over here playing 5D chess using both Mac and Windows.

No but seriously, it's extremely easy to sort software by operating system on the sister site.

If posts get buried and you havent checked the site in a while, the weekly top can be very useful.

    Yes, indeed.
@LuciusKing: And even if you would miss a plugin, and that is a very big if, what is the problem?
This topic is one of the biggest non problems in the world. Good grief....

The Weekly Top does the math. If there are so few users using Mac for music, are they downloading plugins 3 and 4 times per user?
They aren't. Also, to separate them into 2 lists; the math would be wrong because many releases are both. Mac/Win.

This thread is the pinnacle example of the "Windows Please?" begging.

I wanted to create quick, useful weekly reviews of plugins on YouTube and Shorts, based on the weekly top list. But what’s the point when the top is filled with Mac-only plugins that don’t even exist on Windows?

    Okay, nevermind.

The plugins you want to review don't exist on Windows, or they dont have cracked versions on Windows?

You can always reach out to the company that makes the plugin you want to review and ask if they'll provide you a NFR license. I've done that a few times in the past.

Or you can buy the plugin to review.

Or maybe there legitimately isn't a Windows version, though usually that isn't the case.
