    Hello,
I would like to upgrade my AudioPC in the near future.
    My budget is 2000€.

So i make electronic music without vocals
I have Bitwig 4 and the normal madness of Plugins ;O)

So in the years I see (I´m not a Computer specialist) that
AVX2 (MassiveX) and OpenGL and SSE 4.xx is important and Multi-Core and also Single Core

    I have a:
500 GB Samsung SSD 840 Evo Series 2.5" (only for OS and Plugins and DAW) for me enough
Samples and Libraries on a separate SSD (enough)
Fractal Arc Mini R2 (continue to use it)

So I would need CPU (AMD Ryzen), motherboard, RAM, power supply, Graphic Card
What parts would you guys recommend and thank you in advance

High end graphic card is not vital for audio, entry level GPU will be enough.
I would def. recommend intel cpu over amd.
amd *should* be compatible with anything, but the Win11 0day amd fiasco prooved us that some issues are still possible with amd cpu.

I will got for i9 or i7 11th gen, 32g ram minimum 512g ssd for system, 1to ssd for audio apps/vst, 8to hdd for data.
2000€ is enough if dont go for leading brands like Dell or HP.
Lenovo are pretty cheap tho, and still quality.
If you can build it yourself, it's still the best option.

In a music production specific PC there are 3 things to look out for

    1. CPU (hands down the most important part so take time in deciding which one you end up with). Single core performance is also very important!

    2. RAM

8 GB is probably enough. 16 GB is likely more than you need. 32 GB is only needed if you use lots of sample-based instruments, each running Multi-GB orchestral libraries & ROMpler style plugins. Don't install more than 32 GB of RAM, for music production. Spend the money on your CPU, audio interface, video card or plugins. If you have 4 or 6 slots, try to leave pairs of RAM slots free for future upgrades as RAM usually installs in pairs.

    3. Storage

SSD (Solid State Disk) vs Traditional MHDD (Magnetic Hard Disk Drive)? SSD's are great for achieving fast boot times, initial program loading. While a SSD will load projects faster, you don't load/save projects all that often so we rank a SSD fairly low on this list of FL Studio priorities. Given large SSD's are still prohibitively expensive. The smart solution is to have a 1 TB SSD 'boot drive' (holding your OS + FL Studio) and 2 or 4 TB MHDD for your project data (libraries, sounds, audio recordings etc). Favour M.2 NVMe format SSD, if your motherboard supports it, otherwise use SATA. Either of these format SSDs are far superior to MHDDs.

If you want a very good cheap but very powerful PC I would suggest going the M1 Mac Mini route (or to wait for a M1X/Pro/M2 MacMini). If you decide Windows PC then you also want some good cooling but silent.

Taken from Image Line's PC guide (even if you don't use FLStudio it is still great info)

I know you said you didn't need a hard drive, but I'm going to recommend Samsung 980 NVMe drives.. man, they are fast! Can get a 1TB one for a pretty good price too ($120USD). Well worth it. I have three NVMes in my PC.. a Samsung 960 Evo 500gb (my O/S drive), a Crucial P1-1TB, and a Samsung 980 1TB. I love them all!

Outside of that, can't go wrong with the specs BEAT16 already recommended. I personally have a Ryzen 9 - 3900X, 32GB 3200MHz ram (dual channel 16s), MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard and it handles electronic music production (all VSTis, in my case) like a dream. I also game on it, and some other things, so needed as high end a CPU (and GPU, in my case) as I could afford/find at the time.

Something like a Core i7-12700K, 2x16GB DDR5-5200, an µATX Z690 board fitting your needs, a decent 400W PSU (e.g. be quiet! Pure Power 11), and no graphics card (they only cause problems and noise) are around €900 today. €950 with a better CPU cooler.

This is a list of all CPU's with the best single thread performance (vital for audio work).

PassMark CPU Benchmarks - Single Thread Performance

Choose your own - Search for a CPU with the fastest single-core performance you can afford, in a package with 8 to 12 physical cores. Why? Because if any one core becomes overloaded, it does not matter how many other cores you have, there will be audio glitches in real-time playback. Here's how we grade multi-core scores for CPUs with 12 or less cores - Weak: Less than 4,999. Medium: 5000 to 9,999. Strong: 10,000 to 19,999. Very strong more than 20,000. For example: An 8 core CPU (14,400) with a single core score of 1800 is probably less well suited to music production than a 6 core CPU (12,000) with a single core score of 2600, since much of what happens with audio-processing can't be computed in parallel. Ideally, you need a CPU in the Strong or Very Strong category.

    Again from Image Line

Honestly, Ryzen 9 is what I use (previous gen though - 3900X), but again, I do a lot more than just music production. But from my point of view, yes, a Ryzen 9 is unnecessary overkill. With the latest gen of AMD, a Ryzen 5 will do just fine too. I tend to stick in the middle with i7s or Ryzen 7s, but only grabbed a 9 because someone else was paying for it (in a trade), so why not!

No, 8gb ram is not enough! Time doesn't stand still:bash:

A used HP if the guy wants and Upgrade (of his existing one, witch you don't know)
    Is BAD advice!

    So to your stuff
ASUS ProArt B550-Creator it has thunderbolt4
Great Layout, Nice VRM cooling, lets you get on with it!

    CPU
if you cant get the best Deal right now, MSRP or less for the 5950x
Get something like a 5600x or up and simply upgrade later (just a drop in upgrade)

    GFX
Sometimes you get Superb deals on last generation Quadro Cards
the 2000 and up are super efficient 50-60watt SILENT!
    100-200bucks

SInce the Boards has Superb NVME support
Get a Samsung or one with SLC Nand (check the reviews to be sure)
you will absolutely never regret it + those get nice Sale Prices!
Calculate a Power requirement and get a
Silent or mostly passiv PSU (everything silver and up is great)
everything above a certain quality cost roughly the same, so get one with
    good reputation and long warranty!:yes::no:

It fits together very well.
On the other hand, an ancient GT 730 doesn't fit in a new 2022 build.

8GB is enough? 8GB was 2010 enough. Also most often you have browsers open, they can easily eat up over 2GB. Or if you want to use Omnisphere, N3 or other RAM hungry plugins.
I think RAM is something you cant have enough.
Best way is to buy 1x16GB stick, it is future proof. If you need 32GB, you can just buy another stick and and have 32GB. Stay away from 2x8GB sticks, most mainboards do not have more than 2 RAM slots.

I would buy 0.5TB SSD possibly M.2 NVMe for OS and DAW and some very very important Libraries, 0,5TB normal SSD to hold additional data like samples, stuff you dont need to often, while producing, also remember it can always happen that a SSD dies before their lifetime, so i wouldnt throw everything on 1 big SSD. (Also hey it depends if you do backups, i for my part dont do backups)
Non performance stuff goes on bigger HDDs, they are so cheap these days, or just buy small 2,5'' external ones if you need space.

Wait what M1 Mac Mini? This comes with a lot of Apple contraints (Apples way of doing business, no PC-user needs that), which a normal PC user dont want. Apple is known for breaking usage of older software, while on Windows 10 you can still run software from 20 years ago just fine. I may be that M1 is powerful for single processing, but you can also buy a Ryzen, they also very powerful and cheap with its components.

FOUR: Another important point is a CPU Fan, which is just silent, because remember you need to hear certain frequencies, when mixing! very important.

Those are my two cents. Also remember the chip market is still fighting the covid time out, means prices are right now higher and it could last till mid 2022, before everything is normal again. Means for you hardware stuff is more expensive, so you get less for your money, than in half a year.

That's bad advice if its AMD chip, it reduces the performance of the Ryzen chip (significantly).
even on intel systems it is better to run RAM in dual channel

I would make it Price dependent how big the chip should be
I.e buy the Fastest reasonable Priced sticks
if you can imagine possibly doing music to a film, or doing some animation Later on
    32-64Gb kit is Very good!
i would not go below 16gb Total
