I'm not expecting them to do not all the time but some companies only do 30% off
They never give us 70% off.

You can also offer a product at a higher price and then give a generous discount, so that the customer thinks
he has saved something. Plugin Alliance is a very aggressive business model, but Waves stands up to it.

At the company Waves you can save enormously, sometimes up to 91% as this website of Waves proves.
Or buy 2 plugins and 1 is free.

    Why won't sonimus do it
    Or softube
    Or acustica
What is the reason? Isn't it just software? Does it make the product look cheap?

I'd like to add that Waves is also actually a hidden subscription model lol. Unlike other companies (let's say, Soundtoys for example cuz they have a sale atm). You have pretty much perpetual support and updates but for Waves, you need to purchase their Renewal plan (only lasts 1 year) if you want updates. Well, I haven't updated and some still work but I'm slowly phasing out the plugins I can cuz I hate their model and the fact I still need to select a mono/stereo version. Although it's annoying, there's no denying they make great plugins

I actually like the approach that Plugin Alliance has. I would do it the same way if I could code and create plugins. They always have sales, sometimes its 19$ sometimes 29-30$ and sometimes they are at 199$ or 299$. I think it attracts a lot of attention, and if you can get a 299$ plugin for 19$ on a "sale", you feel happy, they always cash in and its a 360 win. Even the "renting" they have, for a few bucks a month you get access to every plugin they have and get to keep like a few or 10 of them every year, its a great tactic to stay relevant. Only my 2 cents....

The trick is to tag a plugin 5 - 10 times too high and tell the people 30 bucks is only 10% (while in reality it's way more because it's worth way less :winker:).

    Acustica Audio? -> https://www.acustica-audio.com/pages/promos.
And for Softube try sort by price lowest to highest, you can easily find 50% discount for some of their pluggies.

because others are not terribly overpriced,
I'd actually think it's very disrespectful towards customers to sell exact same products at multiple different prices randomly,
it's also disrespectful towards actual developers, let's not forget Waves and PA are just peddlers, not makers

If a company sells 100s of plugins, they can afford huge discounts and even giving a plugin for free occasionally. This marketing strategy works very well for these companies.

there's a retail chain in the us called macy's. it's been known that their 'sale' prices are actually what the regular purchase would normally be.

i've gotten irritated with an online music dealer sometimes having sales that are actually just the normal 30-40% or whatever it is nowadays, discounted price from full retail all dealers sell at
