So basically this is a very serious and important question .. I have all my samples on one external hard drive and I have a back up of that in case it fails .. Is there another way I can back up my external?? Maybe something like a cloud where I can upload the contents of the entire hard drive ?? I need to get another hard drive and I really do not want to buy a second one as the back up for it ..

1 - have a duplicate of your drives, all of them. And keep them recent at all times.
2 - have a copy of your drives on a separate server in your server room.
3 - have a copy of all the above data off-site, and keep those recent too.

Nah just get a large notebook and jot down the 1's and zero's of yer HD.............you'll save a fortune, might take a while tho, but its what all the pro's do.

There is a web site that most people who seek basic knowledge on almost any subject are using. It is called Google, if it does not have your information maybe Bing would or so many other search engines. Just enter "cloud storage" in the search box then press enter.

ps, You insult yourself and us by asking this pro audio forum these overly simple questions, just use google!

 

Upload it to a OCH and share the links on the sister site. When your drive fails ask the downloaders kindly to send the data back to you.

there are some other cloudhosters which are usually more expensive


if you want to go full geek then rent a server and backup through ftp
