I watched one of his videos a little while back and it gave me "agida" like after doing something like slamming down 9 cups of espresso in rapid succession, and then I had to go outside to watch a tree grow for two hours to counteract the over-stimulating effect that it had on me. However, his comparison of the Klark-Teknik KT-76 that I experienced was informative and enlightening.

  2. He's just pretending that he doesn't like snake oil because he doesn't think I know it's his favorite lube.

  3. Oh I know. I know.

It's a shame that analog warmth has only now recently been discovered as snake oil. To everyone's complete surprise. I mean, if ya just wanted aliasing and noise, why not just use compression? Adding noise is like its only function, after all >_____> well maybe its main one <________<

actually that video led me to peer into properly testing audio stuff myself,
found out even more interesting thing - using analog-emulation plugins, rendering 2 mixes at same samplerate will not sound the same, which is even more frightening

  8. It also depends on whose 'analog' you're using. On almost all Waves plugs, the Analog switch injects a great slab of shaped blue noise into the low level of the signal, effectively like a kind of demented dither.

Couple of years back, I was hanging out with a 10 year old I used to baby-sit for when he was younger. He'd only ever heard his fave music as 256kbps mp3s, or less.
So his parents bought the CD from Amazon. He'd never heard 16Bit 44.1Khz versions of his music...

I will never forget his face when he heard the CD!
His jaw dropped! It was awesome! lol
Was kind of worrying too, though!

Don't care about what he say, if i put a plugin on a track and the plugin does what i want and if the sound is good, let's go. For this guy almost all plugins are snake oil

Well, the fellow might be hyper but he seems to know his audio. I can't stand listening to him...but I don't have to. His gear is pretty cool and he uses a VERY nice Neumann desk to mix on. His present gear is an analogue dream, and if you wish to record as well as mix with him he works with Sound Vision Studio which has some of the nicest live rooms and coolest gear in The Netherlands. Like I said, I cannot deal with his energy, but he seemed to be on his game when it comes to audio.

This guy may be funny but he has a young/old Taliban side to analog sound. I have worked with a lot of analog equipment but I do everything in the box today as 98% of the pros. The important thing is the result. People don't give a damn about any of this when they listen to a good song. A good song doesn't care about analog sound...

If it's because of analog harmonic saturating then I think that is the point. A slightly imperfect and unique copy

Maybe that's why he has a mix career?..

This guy for a couple of time deleted review video (the last was a snake oil video about decapitator). It is like if make video and then he regret what he say....or maybe he get some comment that open his brain and make him realize he say a lot of bullshit sometimes...anyway i still watch his videos

  17. He's alright. Seems like a likeable chap to me, learning the trade. He'll get there.

Lol plz try to attend one of his mixing sessions i bet his NOT using as much plugins as he say he does you do KNOW he got a paycheck every month from Waves just to marketing their stuff

  20. The universe according to Mr Scheps is that the worst part of the digital offering is the conversion process, a-d/d-a. So once you're in the digital 'box' you stay in it all the way until you come out again at the end.

    Around 35 mins in...
