I will ask a question. What is the point of music? Beyond art, beyond personal expression. Beyond life and death. We, as musicians, put our hearts and souls into sending out notes and rhythms into the universe. It contains our joy, our tears, our fears and laughter. Is our music eternal? Do you think music itself may be alive? Does it exist all around us and we just use our energy to grasp bits of it and make music from it?

Dr. Pop, who did the quote “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture”?

Who invented it? Some claim that Frank Zappa coined the most popular bon mot in music journalism, others Elvis Costello, others Thelonious Monk. Presumably it wasn't one of the three.

    exactly ... and:
The world of music CANNOT be described with a single quote. It's a very oversimplification of a complex question.

why isn't it available by the kilo?

Bags of it could be placed by the Checkout for that impulse purchase moment like they do with gum, peanuts and gummibears.

yeah, I Think music is decoding what is already there - and transforming an energy into audio Form

That it exists in the Universe's Database

Then on the other Hand I sometimes think we create it

but then creation is always done with components that are already there

I Dont know. maybe it creates itself. 'alive' as you say

sometimes I swear my synthesizers are alive and conscious somehwere in that electric circuitry and guides or suggests telepathically which knobs to move or buttons to push - sorta nudges me towards my next move - cause its collaborating with me

    I know it sounds crazy.

    :(

You live ...! The term for this is spirituality:

Spirituality (from the Latin spiritus, spirit, breath 'or spiro, I breathe' - like ancient Greek ψύχω or ψυχή, see psyche) is the search, the turning to, the immediate perception or the subjective experience of something that is sensually intangible and rationally inexplicable transcendent reality that underlies the material world. Spiritual insights can be gained with questions of meaning and value of existence, with the experience of the wholeness of the world in its connection with one's own existence, with the “ultimate truth” and absolute, highest reality as well as with the integration of the sacred, inexplicable or ethically valuable into one's own Be connected to life.

It is not about intellectual insights, logic or communication about them, but in any case it is about intense psychological, highly personal states and experiences that have a direct impact on the lifestyle and ethical ideas of the person. A prerequisite is a religious conviction, which however does not have to be associated with a specific religion. There is no generally accepted definition of the term. The personal, ideological belief determines its concrete meaning for each individual - for example, whether God or other spiritual beings, numinous or natural forces play a role. Maybe it's because you don't even have to have knowledge about music nowadays for a good production.

Don't encourage Foster - It is forum suicide

That's an even more loaded question than the thread question. It's like asking what's the best food or the best way to do anything. :hahaha:
