What do you think is the real reason for this phenomenon? I really don't know.
    Thanks!

You laid down this snare very poorly in the ground. It's visible from a mile away. I don't think anybody will fall in it. But who knows.

The snare sound can be said to be the most important sound that almost all those who make music pay special attention to. Why has this sound been so well received over the years? What is the role of this sound in music really? What does this sound add to the music?:dunno:

First: The snare drum is the heart of the drum kit and beat.

Second: The drum kit is the backbone of practically any song that contains drums, reaffirming the role of the snare drum — the heart of the drum kit, beat, and song.

This isn't exclusively the case in all music, but it is typical in Western pop/rock music and other variations.

Typically, a good snare sound is vital. However, there are some cases where a weird resonant snare can work well within the context of a song. The opposite of that would be a “dead” snare (no resonance.) As we commonly hear throughout 70s music.

nobody knows, while it only take only 3 seconds for any of us to judge bad snare in other's song, it takes 10 years to know for our own song. That one is ever weirder.

I consider that to be mental fatigue during the tracking/mixing process, and sometimes an abundance of choices can be overwhelming/confusing too.

It has nothing to do with "boomers." It's natural, because everyone feels the same thing.

You might be thinking about consciously playing more complex rhythm with your hands, and/or feet.

I don't. Probably a bad listening environment phenomenon.

Usually it stands out more than anything else in the mix and normally repeats through the whole song. It's very important simply because you hear it so much, it has to be good, it has to complement.

Snare > all other percussion combined

    Never half-ass a drum track :)

Nobody used to listen to my music then one day I had the idea of removing the snare completely and now nobody still listens to my music.

If you got soul you naturally clap on 2 & 4. If not, then 1 & 3... Here's a poser for you - what beats do you clap on given a meter of 11/8?

Why do you care about the guitar sound? Why do you care about the vocals? Why do you care about the song? Why do you care how your speakers sound?

I don't really know the answer but for what it's worth I think it has to do something with our brains are naturally attuned to sudden sharp sounds as a survival mechanism. Maybe our brain is involuntarily paying attention to it. They also add to the structure and dynamic of a song but you can play it separately on it's own like a military march for example. Interesting quesion.

The snare is different to other drums. So if my song goes kick kick kick kick I can create interesting variations like kick kick snare kick.

PS. Are you the one that created the nobody understands notes thread?
