Most people don't spend any money on buying products and use cracked software. In this case, everything is free for them. Can someone who has such a condition be inclined towards this software because of the cheapness of Reaper (which is mentioned by most people)?:dunno:

Most people have general use of audio tools and customizing the software is not on their priority list. Other than this option, what other reason is there?

Its the only DAW built from the user point view, not forcing users to accept how developer wants them to work as others DAWs do.
    It's the most democratic DAW.

These are more or less present in other DAWs. There are also more complete batch processors than Reaper on the market.

Developers usually have better all-round visibility than users. Developers like that the working environment of their software is clean and there are no extra things that cause confusion. But users like that there is a command for everything, which causes the work environment to be crowded and more complicated due to the existence of many users with different needs.

this needs clarification, Reaper can become crashfest because of third-party plugins

but also hell for people that aren't obsessed about tweaking things and want same DAW anywhere they go (any rental studio etc..)

Thats the mistake most developers do, dictating users what they think is right

sorry for misleading wording, I meant combination of all those,
sure various DAWs do offer any of those features, but not all at once the way Reaper does

I feel that the issue of selection of Reaper is more psychological than a proper connection to reality. Many reasons were mentioned, but most of them revolve around specific cases. Of course, again, this is my opinion. I opened this thread so that all opinions can be heard and anyone who has any opinion can express it, maybe it will affect the opinion of other people who do not use this software and lead them to use it. What I mean by psychology is that a few people advertised this software at first but did not give sufficient reasons. And they have expressed their desire so enthusiastically that it has affected different people.:dunno:

I could see Reaper in time replacing PT in bigger studios, especially when some of these older engineers retire, I've tried it but it feels clunky to me, I can't get used to the workflow, the other gripe I have with it is the dated UI, I know you can theme it, but it still feels dated to me

I like the way you can route stuff. Reverse polarity on routings is something i've really enjoyed doing with Reaper.

Useful? Meh. Not for everyone :P

Choosing a screwdriver is more psychological than a proper connection to reality.
Don't overcomplicate things. It's just an instrument which people feel comfortable with.
