The last two days my email has been bombarded by plugin companies offering big discounts, as if it's Black Friday. Why is that? some quarterly thing?

 

in Eu alot of people get thier paycheck at the end of the month.

 

Schools start (student discounts while getting government funding/loans) and people working is getting their paycheck.

 

I saw a few doing labor day sales

 

In sales, people think in fiscal years (most of the time Jan 1st-Dec 31st).
Thus for the last quater (december doesn't count for most sales organisations because of a lot of holidays) of the year 2019 they try to catch up what they have lost in numbers through the vacation months.

 

Because things are not going well with most of the the companies. Let's be honest. There is too much to offer on Win and Mac platforms. You run completely out of your mind if you search for a certain type of studio software. I think that a lot of companies smell the big money but...only a few will survive in the struggle for life. Mind my words. Most of these insane discounts are purely need to survive!!

Big sale usually means new version soon and they want you to buy the last iteration so you will feel the need to upgrade to the new version when it comes out, or just milk as much as possible out of the old one.
We really need a run-on emoji here guys!!!!!!

 

More annoyingly, several of those companies emailed me again after just one day to "remind" me of their sale. Kinda pathetic tbh.

 

Another reason maybe because a lot of student work temporarily on summer and they get their pay now. As they still live with parents, they can spend on plugin instead of food, house etc...

 

I get atlest 20 email everyday from different vendors (oh and i also got email from plugin alliance, plugin boutique, dont crack etc etc) and they have sale every week around the year.

 

Because they understand that they products incredibly overpriced.
