I was actually looking for a good MP3 converter app to try with solid features for renaming etc, but all of them get downvoted on the sister site. As in they are have a negative rating, every single one.

I was just curious as to why?

And maybe if someone could recommend a good MP3 conversion app.

Basic I know but the one I've used for years stopped being supported a few OSX's ago.

 

It's because Ibeny releases always this kind of crappy software that Mac guys hate him.

 

I dont know if it got a mac version but xrecode is fantastic

I use it since many years, free, great and the most practical of all.
BTW I did some spectral comparison, at the end it seems that Context Menu Audio Converter wins.

 

i'm baffled,, what are we wanting to convert mp3s into? giraffes, also try cooleditpro, the codebase that became adobe audition, a worthy program thats stood the the test of time, available at better internet stores everywhere.

 

Avdshare Audio Converter works great to convert audio formats and has basic editing feature like change audio channel, audio bitrates, audio volume etc. It has both Mac and Windows version.

 

I don't know what special needs you have but for me ‘Music’ (formerly iTunes) works very very well... ... and is already in the OSX!

IMP.: Furthermore Music is scriptable: use it with Doug Adams' scripts... and it becomes unbeatable!

Because these software are very niche on sister sites, So most users consider them as waste. But in my opinion no release on sister site is a waste Its just the userbase is less for that particular app doesnt make it less valuable
