It's called db per octave, or 1 pole filter, and yeah, it's ReaEQ main weakness. I don't know why they don't introduce the option for other pole orders.

Generally you can get it steeper by just using the same filter twice, but it's not very good for workflow. There's a free eq plugin called TinyQ that lets you adjust the steepness of the filter. Or you can use the JS: Butterworth 4 Pole Filter for a pretty steep cut.

Because it has only low pole filters. If you want sharp cutting use Fabfilter Q3 or something else.

    1. You're using a shelf, not a cut
    2. You didn't move the Bandwidth to the left (important for steep shelves)
    3. You can use more than one band to even increase the slope (a bit cumbersome, but works)
EDIT: You can also use one of the JS Pole filters (for instance Apple 12-Pole, how about that?).

JS: Butterworth 4 Pole Filter is built in.

The screenshot shows a shelf selected but the eq does have a LPF on it.
12 Pole is incredibly steep, like 96db/oct, hardly ever used - most used ones are 2 or 3 poles (12db/oct and 18db/oct), but I find 4 poles to be really clean sounding.

Not very steep either. In fact the shelf can even be steeper than the cut.

    Absolutely.
