Inspired by the "when is hip hop going to leave these clowns in the past?" thread created by @Jake Jlinngall and, in conjunction with my own frustrations, I'm asking y'all to contribute with your opinion.
I think everyone trying to keep going with their music (regarding of genre) is generally aware of the names which make the trends, which show up in the searches on YouTube, in any known awards, in the media, so on. WHO'S RESPONSIBLE for the current trends in music ? Hip-o-dance-o-trap especially.

The topic is complicated. Like, very. You can't just understand one part of it without understanding the problem as a whole.

True, and the same with all of everything.
    - Firstly, since all of our "problems" are psychological in nature, we must understand who and what we are as humans within the domains of Earthly nature and within nature as a whole.
    - Understanding those things even in the rather limited ways we are able, can help to alleviate much unnecessary suffering that results from misleading or objectively wrong assumptions.

For example, the creation of this thread might have been avoided...

Theyre not clowns and they're nothing new. It sounds too much of a cliche to blame pedophiles but I was the victim of this kind of behaviour as a teenager by my 56 year old manager a lifetime ago. He was rich, married with children but placed me under enormous pressure. If I didnt act like his plaything, he told me that he would cut me and the band loose. We were successfully touring and recording but he knew as the songwriter, I was where the money was, so he signed me personally to a contract where I had few options nor escape clauses. The band signed a different contract. He'd always find some excuse to be alone with me when he'd expose himself and ask me to touch him. It got too much and I confided in my record company and they immediately got their solicitors to advise him my contract was to be terminated immediately. Of course he took me to court wher naturally he denied everything since nobody ever witnessed this. It dragged on for around three years, the band dissolved and the court decided I had unfairly dismissed him. I was ordered to pay him $80,000. I declared bankruptcy and could not work in the music business for seven years. I went from "almost famous" to driving a delivery van. That was my first nervous breakdown. Two more were to follow.

Anyone with deep pockets can get into "trending" charts and get his video in recommended sidebar.

Still, everyone knows that getting real (dedicated) fans is more valuable, so it's better focusing on a project in any kind of (niche) subgenre (metal, electronic music etc), imo.

the kids probably, but again, its maybe just the normal cultural flow, i mean people complained about ravers in the 90s and i could find numerous of other compliaining from previous generations/decades

Ariana Grande can actual sing and this was acapella, no autotune, not prepared (or was it?!) what i saw/heard in a late night show.

But yeah the stuff they sing is nothing for me, to cheesy to cliché, to boring.

So i pass ... and ignore it.

The main reason that the listeners listen to his nonsense is because they do not know other artists well.

Justin and a few others are constantly in sight. The algorithms in music platforms are not justice-oriented. Justice must be redefined with new concepts and the monopoly must be taken out of the hands of Justin and his comrades.

Unfortunately, selection and ranking algorithms are not written by well-known artists, and there are people involved in writing algorithms who are not very familiar with art. They are all from the technical and engineering fields of computers, and one cannot expect much from them.

:wtf:@ACAS and @Michael Myers the 2 of you rated as "funny" what @Lenny Belardo II recounted. There is nothing funny about sexual abuse. Nothing whatsoever. What he described continues to take place in the entertainment industry. Many of the victims opt to remain silent for fear of retaliation. Nothing funny about it.
