sounds like a synthesized moog bass sample layered with a kick drum. what i would do is find a bass preset in a synth similar to the one you're looking for (most synths should have something similar to this bass in particular). then i'd layer it with the right kick sample, possibly change the pitch of the kick to better match the bass, eq both tracks, and then bus them to a separate channel. add enough saturation to the new channel to shape the attack of the kick, a little compression to give it punchier dynamics, and maybe some final eq to polish it off. :like:

Go for it!! it's awesome for hip hop! That's what i create with it. For sampling I recommend just going with maschine.

If you really like a single DAW, but find sampling limited, using a third party can really help you.
I advice ppl to test Geist (GURU v2). It is VERY easy to chop a loop, separate snare/Kick/HH..., keep groove only and much more (effects...).
Some functions are even copied in Ableton, like audio to MIDI/Separate elements.
It can be used as standalone, like Maschine, but without dedicated hardware.

The more is see things, you have two ways :
-using a single DAW, workarounds and/or third party
-using several DAWs for several tasks (FLStudio beatmaking from hits, Ableton for loop slicing, Reaper mixing/looping...)

Now it is up to each ppl to know what works best. We are lucky : we can try almost everything ;)

The question is who isn't using logic for hiphop,I love it to bits myself and for those who say you can't chop in logic I say learn your daw better, there are so many ways of chopping in logic pro from using tab to transient(1) flex time in slice mode and slice at transients(2) or just let the audio play with it high lighted and use back slash to chop then go into the audio editor and tidy up each slice(3),so easy really! I also agree with using tools to help as well, Geist and Battery4 are your friends I like geist for chopping breaks quickly and battery 4 for chopping samples by adjust the start and end points of a sample then copy to new cell and change the start and end points of the sample etc..... Thats just scratching the surface really, logic also has very nice ways of finding the tempo, streching audio to locaters and all that...

It's said not intuitive that much compared to other solutions, that comes from knowing Logic and other solutions, we used Logic extensively and other DAW's before it and now after it, not every DAW is good for everything/every aspect

True but it not being intuitive is your opinion, I have ableton as well and people swear by the hole audio wrap thing and to me that was not intuitive at all but thats my opinion...I do think logic is good for everything tho, you got me there!:dunno:

I never said it wasn't my opinion or the other guy that I agreed with, you came here giving us tips how we should learn it first better, but I'm telling you I know it very well and I have a feeling other guy too, we also know other DAW's we are comparing it against, so once again, in our own opinion, based on our own thing, we find it not as intuitive as we like for that particulate task, as we find another DAW is, as simple as that :like:

Good yes, best for everything, probably no, that's the whole point, every DAW have some weaker sides, but overall, I think Logic is pretty complete and capable for someone that is engineer too besides being an artist/beat maker (which today most artists are), it's still my favorite DAW, but I'm not blind or delusional about it, there are DAW's that are better than him for many things, but overall, as full package/big picture, hardly

New beta is 64bit, other than that, guess it's 32 Lives route

Give ES2 spin, it's really good synth on pair with Sylenth
