Nope, that's why I wrote 'small test' and 'identical values'. Neither did I adjust the output which differs among these EQs for ~ 1dB.
For a more thorough one-to-one test I might've done this.

Oh, I didn't forget it, ok maybe a bit, but I find it rather difficult to built matching low cut, bells and high shelf bands with ReaFIR.
The FFT size isn't a problem, you can change it in EQuilibrium and theEQorange too.

    Yep, nope, sorry. :winker:

On the one hand you're right. Especially theEQorange is meant to be a mastering EQ and should therefore be used on a complete song.
On the other hand a complex content could be too distracting from small details and I thought just three naked sounds could give useful information about their dynamic, phase and frequency response.

And hopefully you never have to boost any frequency by 6dB while mastering.

Listening again (& to the new track), my order of preference now is 3, 2, 1, 4.
Although I think I would be pretty okay with any of these EQs, adjusting curves as necessary, except for 4 which seems to do a weird thing with the depth. 3 seems to sound the deepest to me, but I'm not sure how much of that is the way the EQ handles depth & transients vs. the actual curves themselves (bigger / louder low end usually means the track itself feels 'deeper').

I pass and let the others try :suicide:

For me, the tracks are too long, too rich and I can't choose which Eq is my favorite

    Yesterday was much easier.
I had to focus on 3 or 4 elements to make my choice.
The bottom band, the top band, the transients ... and my decision was much easier, obvious and fast.

With this new song, at some point I prefer the 3rd EQ like yesterday, but on others, I really like the 4th which will boost the brass and give more energy.
Anyway, with this test or even that of yesterday, I am unable to know who is who.
I usually don't use any of these 4 Eqs.

This proves to me one thing, an eq can be the best...
but not for all situations !

I learn a lot from you.
Thank you again @No Avenger for this test and the others for all your comments

I gotta get back to you on this as I'm on the move all day and only have my earbuds, which, I think, may lose something in translation.
Nice EQ geek-ery, though. It's always interesting doing EQ/Compressor/etc. comaparisons; I just rarely have the time so, thanks.

Oops, I forgot to answer the main question.
    Who can identify the EQorange?

Given that the EQorange is an EQ for super precise mastering and which costs 678 €
it should be super clean like the equilibrium... or more.
    So I would say:
    2 equilibrium
    3 EqOrange
    ... Or the opposite

How did you do the matching?

I would feed 2 EQs with FFT noise and then match them using multiband correlation meter and level-/bit-meter.

    greetings

If you're measuring performance of EQ, # of filters doesn't matter that much for FFT since the same #bins is being processed anyway. You can draw bells easier in ReaFIR with points(smooth) mode.

Means, no matching. As I already said with only two EQs and a thourough test I probably would've done this. I neither made any pre-ringing analysis or compared different FFT sizes.

I never heard of FFT noise.

Sure you have. 'FFT' is the noise you hear when it's time to go to the toilet.

Yep, that's true. But I didn't want to mess around with the specific slopes of low cut, bell and shelf. And if they were too different, it would've been audible and spoil the comparison. I could at least choose the same slopes and values for the other EQs

I'm not sure if I want that in my DAW.

@Herr Tony Are you sure you accounted for the original source being the first?

    Edit:
Ok my FINAL guess goes like this:
    #0 ORIGINAL

    #1 TDR NOVA
    #2 Orange MAAT
    #3 DMG Equilibrium
    #4 DDMF LP10

So far(Not final) for the nice audio track, it goes like this:
    #0 ORIGINAL

    #1 DMG
    #2 DDMF
    #3 TDR
    #4 Orange
