I've recently stopped looking for or using GhostSpectre builds, either their site got hijacked, infected with malware or gone, but I can no longer trust it

I use it for client's Windows audio computers. Not sure if it's U22, though. It's probably an older LTSC version from couple of years ago. I have W10 LTSC "PhoenixOS superlite" on my laptop. They are both great, no problems whatsoever. Ghostspectre version seems easier to manage for those who are not so computer proficient. I prefer "PhoenixOS superlite". Really nice.

I think I found it on TeamOS' website. All of these. Should be clean.

Not Win10, but have been testing Win 11 SuperLite GhostSpectre 24H2 release v.10 on two machines up to yesterday. One machine is a client's pc actually fully ready to go, to be delivered next Friday. No malware there. Their versions are actually too light even for my preference lol. Nothing that a few redistributables and a couple of additions can't fix though. I actually like it :)

I'm using 'Win 10 Pro 21H1 X64 GhostSpectre'. It seems to have been fine so far, but I'm offline. I installed UAD shit software on a clean install then took it offline and it stays offline now.

I don't pay too much attention to windows 10, I don't use it regularly, I have some oem installs on a few laptops, I rarely use.
But I understand a lot, and I mean a metric shit ton of computers are going to go on the resale market next year as they are not windows 11 compatible, and windows 10 support drops off in October 2025

Microsoft will no longer provide free updates, technical support, or security fixes for Windows 10 after October 14, 2025.

so me hearties, next year is a great time to buy cheap computers....and run windows 10 or windows 7 or Linux Mint etc..

the only reason to go 10 for me....
these bstrds seem really made it impossible ,even as computer engineer/technician ,to install the OS you want to use on new mobos ....and when i look to mac and their every week new OS and compatiblity headache , my god....
im really not a linux guy cause im just a plain user and prefer live over reaper any day but would love throw a middlefinger to ms and apple but my main plugs are not linux i think and the big question now arise is , is linux installable on new mobos ?

I use Linux online to avoid the MS headaches, but I wouldn't touch if for music. Its not worth the headaches and nothing is compatible. UAD for a start will never be Linux. Ableton etc. Its not even worth considering... Still get headaches with Linux because when it goes wrong its a fuckin nightmare. There's no such thing as support in the Linux community. Everything gets 'solved' after 100 lines of nonsense and 'upload your spec, print this shit' etc... 'Just answer the fuckin question dickheads'... But there's a new way of avoiding it. AI. Just ask your favourite AI to translate their nonsense. It has been working for me when I've had issues, so its looking promising for the future, but often they change menus which can make things difficult to follow even with AI... Its progressing though at least.

linux will run on your toaster.. thats a big thing about linux is its designed to be agnostic about hardware. It should install on about anything. Linux Mint is a really nice version. you can test it by downloading a live disk and putting it on a usb or a dvd and booting your system with it. it will run without installation so you can test everything. and if you like it you can install it either as a standalone or as dual boot system to let you keep your old o/s as well as run linux.

    https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

i've been running cinnamon (thats a release of mint) on a laptop for awhile and it works well for web browsing etc. I haven't tried it for music, but will be exploring it in 2025..

its a lot easier if you have some experience with system administration, as the concept of root and user is difficult for some people. Also its not all in the windows directory, like windows, Linux is spread all over the hard drive, lots of separate folders or directories to use the proper term. That makes it hard to wrap your head around.

I grew up using a terminal, so typing commands to do things is second nature. For a lot of people its not. The nice thing about linux are the help or manual pages for every command, the hard part is you have learn computer nomenclature to understand what the help pages are telling you.

    Grep is your friend...

I stopped LTSC and "alternative" ISO because when i needed to install some specific softwares, updates or whatever, i lost too much time with incompatibilities.
Most of those releases are NOT really made for updates ... and when some software ASK for last win version ... you are stuck.

So now i'm back to Win 10 Enterprise ISO with controlled updates. And i disable everything i don't need.
I prefer to do it myself. So everything is REALLY reversible AND upgradable.
