The sound quality is just noticeably clearer than most of his stuff.

I remember thinking someone had played a terrible joke on me the first time I heard Unconditionally Guaranteed & Bluejeans & Moonbeams, lol. They've grown on me now, but I believe Don himself apologized for those two albums. He said for everyone to take them back to the store for a refund, & if they couldn't get their money back, he would play a private concert in their living rooms for the inconvenience.
