genesis CM version , must've been released at least 5years ago for some reason it sounds more analogue and warm than all my actual hardware synths microwave xt,supernova I (wish i could get my hands on II in decent condition rack ),virus indigo and my virtual synths virus ti2 ,nord rack ,korg and my best vst synths , Sylenth,Diva,Spire

then again this just might be the presets i concluded to make and the tracks i made with them, still for some reason it fills my monitor speakers 2x Genelecs 8010ap and + 7040APM sub , or pair of Adam A5x or studio headphones like behringer 990 pro or att ath m50x like any of trese synths, i must sober up and recreate the patces in my aforementioned synths but until then this fact for me remains , juzz a headz up if anyone tries this synth , for some reason it crashes my daw a lot ,whether Ableton,Cubase,Fruiyloops , havent tried in another daw but my guess is Reaper will have no problems whatsoever - havent tried that either with projects

I had / have the entry version of it. Very useful, but extremely CPU intensive stuff (at least for my old machine).

Love me some Driver, it's great on guitar/bass before amp sim as well.

I've been getting a lot of mileage out of NI's Crush Pack, meaning Dirt/Bite/Freak distortion fuckery plugins.

Great on their own or mixed together. And like Driver, they can do fairly subtle things or go to full on insanity.

Nice, I saw someone demo it on YT a while ago and have been meaning to get into it. It looks like such a creative waveshaper. I've been crafting a lot of basses with various types of distortions lately and being surprised how much movement it brings to my tones. It's as if I'm shaping my sound with envelopes and LFO's but in reality there's none of that actually happening.

Rift looks like it capitalizes on just that. Won't lie, it looks incredibly tempting and deeply capable. What do you like about your copy?

You're the second here to mention this plugin, going to have to check what all the raving is about. Never heard of it before.

Great reply Sexy Sean, dropped 2 plugins I've never seen come up anywhere. I need to check these out.

I've seen other Line 6 plugins but I'm surprised I've never seen this before.

Tbh NI fx are very good in general. I like the 3 compressors NI collaborated with Softube a lot. They're very punchy.

That Waves Berzerker or whatever it was called, that plug which reminds me of NI distortions is worth your time too if you like this sort of thing but with these plugins you really don't need much. They're very powerful.

Just like you said they sound good used subtly or pushed to it's limits. Especially good for automating between the two to create contrast between vibes. I'm always surprised how a distortion plugin handles low end of electronic sources, NI nails it.

I finally picked up Vital. Yes I know, a bit too late. It's light on CPU too. Wavetable import with it is a breeze and a cup of ice. Been reaching for Vital over Serum lately, a lot.

Not only can you drop and drop them with ease but you can set paths within Vital to remember where your wavetables are stored so you can look for them using the Vital browser instead of your daw's browser or your operating system. This to me is one of the best features I can dream to have as someone interested in sound design.

There is also 3 wavetable types to choose from, as in which fx are applied directly to your wavetable when you drag and drop in. That's not a lot but it's also plenty. I pair Vital with other wavetable synths but after several months of using it I have to say it's a keeper and worth every penny.

Vital could and probably has replaced Serum for some. Vital is less taxing on cpu so it's quicker to use and simpler to pick up than Serum. But Serum has more horsepower under the hood so it's more equipped and thus slower and more complex to use but not by too much. Together they are unbeatable.

I like how the wavetable fx in Vital add onto the possibilities of the wavetable fx in Serum. They complete each other.
