I also use RME but 9652 with Debian Linux 12, MATE DE. Reaper 6 and 7 with stock plugins, many JSs, and u-he, TAL, ACMT, Audio Damage, DSP56300, Surge team, Disco DSP... mainly.

When my TC SK48 dies, I am going to replace it with Audient iD22 or 24. Maybe even 44. I need something that can easily connect with outboard hardware. They are USB compliant and work well with Linux.

    Cheers!

Windows is annoying from fresh install.. I end up configuring, debloating, disabling telemetry and the ability to update when "fully updated".. My Windows 11 OS is now pretty much "offline" with the exception of letting certain plugin authorization checks come through when needed. Since I went this path, I haven't have one bad day for 10 years, and perfect performance. Even an "ameliorated" OS would do perfect for music I'd say.
