I'm not sure which one is older, but it must be either my Kurzweil K2000VP, Roland S-760, Akai GX75 cassette player, or the Sennheiser MD431 "Black Fire" mic.

I sometimes still use my beloved Sequential Circuits Pro One I bought used in 1986. I say sometimes because It's old, and I'm afraid it's going to give out on me. And my awesome Kawai K4 machine I bought new in 1990, that I still program for Ambient textures. I mostly sample them both to archive my custom patches.

I think the Akai is the oldest. Those GX date back to 82-83. I know the MD 431 is from the 80's. If yours does not have the on and off switch it is the MD 431 "PROFIPOWER". If it has the on and off switch then it is the BF 531 "BLACFIRE" The BF 531 was design for live performances. Excellent mics. Prince used the BF 531 in concerts.

I remember the R8 MKII. I purchased one after getting fed up with the 808's lack of MIDI. Good investment. The expansion cards sound better than all those sample packs. BTW,that is what 808 State used.

My oldest software = Pro Tools 12.5 (AudioUTOPiA), and the R2R "Happy Holidays" edition of Addictive Drums from sibling site, 2016/2017. Although I loved working with reel-to-reel and ADAT, which I had used extensively over the 20 years preceeding January 2017, when I first joined this here communism, errrr, I mean, community, I found it became time to make a (partial) switch from hardware recording to DAW. I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie to it, reading what expertise y'all bring to the forums. Anyway main bother for me was latency, which to me is unacceptable by definition but now I can safely say I have all but eliminated.

    [Edit]:
I would have knocked it before, but of course since joining I have made quite a few more happy downloads. :guru:

  17. I've got a 1940's banjolele but I'd be I be lying if I said I used it much.

So easy to play, so difficult to look cool with, the banjolele.
