Asus, it's very good and has a large screen. Used it to watch TV with vpn on an overseas trip recently. But this was desperate measures for me, I actually can't stand laptops, especially that stupid finger pad that replaces the mouse which drives me nuts, I have to plug in a mouse. If I had to buy a new laptop it would probably be a touch-screen one, and one that you can fold, like the Microsoft Surface, expensive but very cool.

@Thankful I'm not sure you'd like a touch screen if you don't get on with a trackpad.
Personally, I'm quicker with a trackpad that's set up properly than I am with a mouse nowadays.

Purchased a second hand Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T1C for very cheap, it has dual boot with Android x86 and Windows 10, I use it with TouchDAW as control surface when I'm in the studio and I can use it for mobile djing with WIndows 10 and works good with Virtual dj or Serato and my Numark NVII controller.

i moved from my macbook pro 2015 to Dell XPS 15 7590, pretty happy with it, can also play games on it which is nice, i thought ill see a greater improvement but not so much.. its better but not by much, i can run plenty of plugins and the CPU handles then well, i also kinda like windows except the whole drivers thingy... horrible shit, its the only thing i miss with my mac - no drivers, simply plug and play

If i was looking for a laptop i'd be looking at a model with one of these cpus:
    https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-mobile-Renoir-4000-series-9-4900h-hs-series
My guess, AMD's foot is about to take a big step up on Intel's butt in the laptop market. Not that Intel will mind of course eheheh. First previews i heard from a good source of mine which i can't name for obvious reasons, says these are darn fast.
Hopefully they 'll be out soon as the recent global pandemic comes to a halt or contained etc. This global curfew has already started to bring world economy down. Damn, i never i thought i'd be living Resident Evil for real.
Y'all be well mates, stay safe :)

    Bought a Lenovo legion Y-520, 7700HQ, GTX 1050 with 16gb for 450 euros.
It runs everything you throw to it, only disadvantage is that pesky Win10, that took me two weeks to trim it down to the bare essentials.

i only buy refurbished business laptops as you can get a lot more value for a lot less... right now i have a quad core elitebook 8570w from hp that cost me around 350 € which was about 1600 € when it was new.. you might want to buy a new battery with it though, but that will be 30 - 40 € at the most

Yep, all my laptops are refurbs. Great value. And they have been fully serviced; they're probably more reliable than most new machines. Desktops I usually build up from components.

Bought last week a Dell precision 5520 with a xeon cpu, 4K touch screen, 32 gb Ram and and 1 tb ssd at an auction for the steal price of 400 euros. People avoid live auctions these days thanks to the coronavirus.
