When I read the topic title I was like: Reaktor, like any sensible human. But then I thought about it like: if I only had one VSTi 2 use forevs, which one? I guess that would be Kontakt, even thought it's quite annoy. Anyone else change their mind, given rephrased topic title?

Surprised I didn't see the SK Note STA-Limit on this list...

I've switched from the Waves CLA-76 to the T-Racks Black 76. Big difference to my ears.

  6. As I said, things change...that VLA-2A to warm up the signal and gently (2 or 3 dB) tuck in and put the polish on my vocal and acoustic guitar following the Warm 1176 is really doing it for me recently. Gain staging is important. Decide on how much transformer you want to impart on the signal from the Tonebeast and then send just enough to the WA76 with the input at the sweet spot at about 1 o'clock to compress 12-18dB on loud passages (fror vocals 4-1 ratio both the attack as well as release at about 2 o'clock). From there the output of the WA76 sends a lowish signal to the VLA-2A that enables the tube emulation do the heavy lifting with the output sending between -18 to -15 to the DAW levels. Yummy.

    Chlamydia. Or maybe gonorrhoea.

  8. Ah, Kontakt. But if it had to be, which one instrument library? Or would you build your own instrument with found samples?
Do you mean Clap Machine? http://99sounds.org/vst-plugins/ :rofl::yes:

I think I'm rethinking my hasty decision about Reaktor! :D Erm, I guess I would build my own E-guit lib first (since FX are unrestricted in this nightmare scenario) and then panic about sampling pianos. And then relax, because it would still be better than most 8Dio libs, even if it was recorded using a potato and mixed using a hand-whisk...

I used cla-76 for years on vocals, lately I use slate vmr or t-racks black.

the thing is, waves version is still the one and only vocal all eater for me.
but it flattens more of the character in the signal then t-racks and slate do.
