    Softube working here to.
Make sure they are up to date as I read Live 10 had a similar issue as well at one stage, not sure if it got corrected.

I can't wait to see what reaper 6 is going to bring, when we know even minor 5.x.x updates often bring great new features. .. Raper 6 should be biiiiig. I think I'm going to buy it.

What i believe is the biggest achievement in cubase, is the integration of the Elastik algorithms. At least 30 daws and audio editors use it, but i think cubase has achieved something really big.

From the sample import with auto slice/transients detection, the auto tempo samples preview, on the mediabay (eg, our tempo is set to 120, if we click on a sample at 145bpm, it will timestretch to 120, in, microseconds, and will sync with the project, immediately, next beat, next bar..something i wish Traktion, with its AMAZING multi-mini-file explorer, could do. ..), + the variaudio thing, with even more crazy options, on v10, that can instantly modify one single file... or hundreds of tracks with thousands of audio samples.... it's so we'll integrated to the whole app.. i think they did a great job there.

Then, not trying to defend cubase or steinberg, but when we see apps like bitwig or Live, only a 'few' years old, made from scratch with new and modern development tool, with very few things to 'invent' (no need to do 5 years of R&D, to learn how to create some filters, oscillators, bezier curves, stream from disk... or to invent new protocols, drivers.. pretty much everything has already been invented)....and then, we have apps like cubase, 30 years old now, with over 2'500 possible shotcuts... which means at least 2'500 possible commands/controls/actions.... 30 years stacking new features over new features over new features... and each time they add something new, it must work flawlessly with thousands of other 'blocks', can't be any conflicts, any bugs...

Then, there are all the stuff we can see.. but there's also a ton of things we don't see... 64bit engines... multiple audio buffers...opengl code displaying/redrawing everything, hundreds of times per second. ...multithread code, to make sure the cpu and all cores are being maxed out (until v9.5, cubase could only correctly handle like 8 or 10 cores max...cubase engine + win10 limitation.. with the v10, it can support up to 32 cores).....+ a ton of shit running in real time...

...it's almost a miracle, that Cubase, Studio one, etc, can run 3, 4, even 8 gours, without a single crash.

And then, if a crash happens, we can still reload a save file from x minutes ago !

By the way, if we enable 'auto save every x minutes', is there a way to make incremental saves... like , 10h00, it auto saves v1...10h10, it saves v2...10h30 it saves v3...?

So yeah.. it's incredible, how these daws manage to perform so well, and are so stable...

ps. junkiexl, with over 3'000 tracks, thousands of VEP sends, millions of plug-ins running at the same time, uad cards all over the place, millions of events and colors at the screen, millions of automations, tons of hardware gear fully delay compensated... quad channels everywhere. .. even the guys at steinberg must be surprised, to watch everything running, without the entire house blowing up !
