    Hello,

    do you have any recomnendations?

The lib should offer hand-played styles - don't need bowed ones.
At least if it only offers regular playing style this would be enough.

I still use an old AKAI Sample CD for that, but it sucks because with mid velocity values you get already "distorted" sound.

    Thanks in advance.

Spectrasonics Trilian has some great double bass patches.

this may be overkill because it comes with so so so much more than just double bass sounds.

No dubt...Trilogy/Trillian or Straight ahead bass are very good options...time ago I used a lot os stuff with the old and fantastic Gigastudio Larry Seyer Upright bass..lovely sound and very useful for jazz, rythym and blues, etc.

Nowadays, the power than Trillian has with his upright bass is awesome. Straight ahead bass http://straightaheadsamples.com/shop-2/straight-ahead-bass/ it's something to have in mind...is sweet, more dark but very usefull and made it for jazz music mainly.

Trillian is the best IMHO. But if you want a decent and good sounding SMALL VSTi bank -only 1.6G lol-, then Broomstick Bass by Bornemark is your case.

    Thanks to all

@Oysters: Specatrasonics seems to be good then but yes 32 GB is a lot for just one Bass.

@AHM: Is this EW Bass only in a bundle available? Sorry Aria doesn't fit, Sound/Playingmode is missed also it's noisy and I didn't see the option to change that.

@jaganshi: Bass Pear the sound is correct, but can't play or better said, it doesn't react as I would expect. Playing short notes fast but not staccato then notes move to silence.
But might I could/would check out the Straight Ahead ..

@sonydmx: ..describtion sounds good*. Also I heared from that (old) giga Lib - i could imagine it is still fun.

@dorian: Ok, might I will check this VSTi.

*I think that Jazz/R'n'B is in this case closer to what I'm looking for. Would try to make some Funk / Dark Basslines..

Straight ahead is good, but sadly some release samples are "noizey" (and no option to turn them off?!).. and there is no stringency - sometimes it is RR Sample 3 & 4 sometimes 1 & 2.

Maybe I try do frankenstein one/some of this libs.

Until recently, "Straight Ahead Bass" was my favorite bass, but a few days ago I discovered "ArtVista Back Beat Bass". I think this is one of the best sounding and playable double bass sound.
