If you are doing electronic music id say FL Studio. Harmor is a super powerful additive synth along with sytrus as an FM synth. Good pattern workflow, alot of thing going on for it.

I did a little more looking into DAW's for my own knowledge and here is a good site for comparing (also other good info):

    http://www.thedawstudio.com/Gear/DAW-Comparison-Chart.html

Here is a page from Sweetwater Music on some questions you should consider before buying a DAW:

    http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/daw/which_daw_for_me.php

This link is from http://ehomerecordingstudio.com called "The Ultimate Guide to DAW Software for 2014". This site also has some "other" very good info.

    http://ehomerecordingstudio.com/best-daw-software/

Wikipedia has a nice page for general info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_digital_audio_editors

I simply googled "DAW comparison" and 'poof' some very interesting reads!

Hope some of those can help you out!!!

I would say cubase 5 or any 32bit daw because you not got much ram so 64 bit programs will eat into your ram. in reality you will only have 3.2gb to play with as windows 7 64bit will take up about 800mb to run.

I know some who is still running sx3 and he is one of the top 10 drum and bass producers in the uk

  5. n-Track, except for the ugly GUI, is one of the most light and powerful DAW out there...
i'm using it on my laptop that has actually less resources than your PC and (until yesterday eheh) i got zero crashes!
