I almost never use the patterns in FL Studio, therefore I was wondering if there would be some other programme that I might like that doesn't use patterns. I'm here to ask you whether you are aware of any software that does not use patterns.

Fl Studio is a DAW that is pattern based.
    Want to try another DAW?

I think i have checked out nearly all daws. Of course some of them more than others. As i am also not a fan of a patternbased workflow, i can understand why someone don't likes fl studio.
My by far prefered daw is cubase/nuendo! But i also like ableton live, studio one and reason!

Google "DAW", pick the ones that look interesting to you and try them. There's no ultimate answer, each person has different tastes and quirks... Most of the DAWs in the market aren't pattern based (like FL) so you got plenty of things to try, I personally recommend Bitwig and Reaper, but I have no idea what you're making, you have to try them all for yourself.

Logic. The Live Loops and Step Sequencer added in 10.5 add a lot of functionality I would like if I was an FL user who was defecting to a new DAW. You probably wouldn't think of it in that way. I never use any of it, but it was clearly made to target such users.

FL is no longer just for pattern sequencing. And most FL users today, including me, don't do pattern sequencing. FL can do everything that other daws can do. I am FL, ableton, pro tools user

I recommend Studio one, it is one of the simplest, easiest, and most complete Daw I know. Enough to make music without complicating your life (unlike other more complex daw).

Nothing quite matches Ableton in terms of workflow when you switch over from FL. I haven't tried a lot of DAWs but Studio One, Reaper etc. look more daunting than Ableton.

I just BOUGHT reaper and I have no money- I used Ableton 15plus years tried reaper less than a couple months ago.... I never managed to get around to actually uhhh buying Ableton so it should say a few things that I bought reaper so quick. one being it's super cheap, but the other is it has to be one of the most in depth daws out there. every option you'd ever want is in there. options you didnt know were options have other options, and at least half of them are probably set to a way that will make you swear at the computer until you change them, so praise be the options.

if cost is an issue I'd consider that, if it isn't I'd still consider that but I'd also consider that repear is almost 100% customizable and you will be annoyed 100% of the time until you customize things off the default settings. like I just realized yesterday the default settings for freezing rendering tracks wasn't the max, which I had missed. so on top of learning a new style of non pattern based production it'll be in a DAW that feels like a F1 car that has been customized like this[IMG]
