Analizing melody packs? Sounds like his loops and midi packs were dissonant and clashing! WTF? Stop cheating and make it yourself. You will get called out on loops and templates by other producers=you will never truly make it.

I've had one for 2 years :P

 

I use loops and my own melodies/chords I come up with... I have no problem using loops to reach Hardwell's stardom if that's what it takes lol.. Thanks for all the comments I read all of them and am very excited about them.

 

If you are comfortable with cheating, go for it. I myself am not! And I can speak for almost all the REAL producers out there and on here. And your reason for justifying cheating is just dumb.

That has to be one of the most misunderstood quotes of all time.

At least in music, people tend to take it as the opposite of what it means. It's funny and sad at the same time but maybe that explains the development of music in the last decades.

 

This is simple entry-level music theory!! Enroll yourself in some classes... if you really love music. It is an amazing language once you learn how to speak it... otherwise, you'll be the same (and sound the same) as all the other wannabe's that think knowing about music is inhibiting their "creativity". You won't have much creativity once you've used up the only one you know. And buying ("eh-hem") sample and preset packs is NOT making you "creative"!!!!!!!

The circle of fifths was what opened the door and turned a light on for me. Made all the scales and modes tie together. It all made sense then.

 

I'm a fan of tonics and dominants. I find that once you know where they are, you can pretty much make up the rest of the stuff as you go along.

Brother, there is no cheating in music production. If it is, then why use DAW to produce music?

 

Cause I dont have access to 1000s of dollars of analog hardware is my reason. Whats yours?
