Where you get your wavetables from?

I've been having fun with wavetable synthesis lately. Serum & Vital are easier to modulate because of their graphics. Massive has a good collection of wavetables but you can't import any other.
Also, I was watching a Dr. Mix video on Youtube where he recreates Take On Me. He says: "Let's create a sound layer with the Waldorf PPG Wave plugin using a bell wavetable I checked earlier".

All of this leads to my question:
For those who enjoy sound design,
do you keep a folder with your favorite wavetables and use them with whatever synth you're working with?
do you create wavetables from sounds you hear?

The serum /Tables directory became the default location over the years. Tons of preset packs come with custom wavetables, and other sources including single cycle waveforms as starting points for design.
As i'm sure you have seen, Serum has so many awesome features for morphin/modulating between frames (including the formula parser)

Adventure Kid has a huge repo of single cycle waveforms for your arsenal: https://github.com/KristofferKarlAxelEkstrand/AKWF-FREE
KRC Mathwaves has provided a huge collection of full wavetables created using single cycle's + formulas/techniques, and also provides single cycles (probably some dupes between the two)
    https://www.wavetables.lol/l/wavetables

And im sure you know this, but you can also import samples directly as a wavetable using the FFT modes. If you know the pitch like E2 or whatever, you enter it in the formula bar.

there are many released packs of just single-cycle waveforms, various wavetables, and many from preset packs for Serum. I've made some with my synths, but it's no common occurrence. It is tedious work. You can also extract from hardware ROM dumps, and there are some sites where you can find them too.

There was just a recent share on sister site of this software which you might want to check out: https://oceanswift.net/product/wavetable-creator/
I haven't tested it yet. Awhile ago I was using Sonic Academy Node which is also decent: www.sonicacademy.com/products/node.
You can also find that one shared. Obligatory YT below:

Yeah, exactly. I use the packs linked by hed0rah, the ESW collections (Core Wavetables, Modular Wavetables, ...), and the stock wts that come with Serum (but in Vital). My Vital init patch uses wavetables captured from analog synths (like the SH101 saw for example).

Yes, resynthesizing is a fantastic tool for creative exploration - and sometimes to save on CPU.

You neophites know very little, let a seasoned pro fill you in on a little secret. You can use any table at all...an old kitchen table, a picnic table, a draft table or an antique desk. The hard part might be getting it to the nearest beach if you haven't a decent sized vehicle or a friend with a van. Once you finally get it to the beach either carry it or drag it to the waters edge. The best and easiest time to do this is actually just before a big storm is bearing down on your location. Tie a rope around the table and tie an anchor to the rope making sure that you have about 6 meters xtra, or approximately 20 feet, then drag or carry (even if you carry it you'll still in all probability going to need to drag the anchor, for who among us is a real living Hercules!) It makes it a whole lot easier when those big swells are coming in from a storm otherwise you'll have to bring it further in so that the waves can wash over it (this is where the term "drag and drop" comes from). Make sure the anchor is embedded nicely in the sand and hold on very tightly lest the outwash drag it into the ocean and swallow it whole to never be seen again. All it takes is 2 or 3 minutes of wave action to complete your task. After that your wavetable is ready to be used as a fine work surface with Serum, Vital, PhasePlant, Ana 2 or any other synth that can do the wavetable synth thing.

    Namaste and Blessings

I keep only 4 essential waves: sine, triangle, saw and square.

With modern tools one can recreate almost any sound from any sound (exceptions - a realistic human voice (human voice is still out of reach for a generic synthesis unfortunately) and atonal noisy real world objects like door squeaks, metallic rambles and so on)

Once you understand the sound mechanics, the "how to", it's pretty easy to isolate the most prominent features of a sound and then to recreate that with only those 4 waves (in different combinations).

Then it also depends on what kind of music you do, if its all electronic then you are good with big 4s, if you blend organic then it isn't a dumb idea to store some real world instrument wavetables like trumpets, mallets, piano, guitar and so on.

I used to have wavetable GAS.

I have reduced my wants to Virus TI, Massive, Waldorf, and Prophet VS.
