I have been producing pretty hard for the past few years, I came from a DJ background. As I dig more into learning and producing and perfecting my craft I wonder more and more everyday if I am one of the only DJ's making music. I mean I'm starting to think 90% of DJ's are just buying ghost produced tracks. Especially the famous ones. Basically the only way to be a breakout artist is to produce better than the ghost producers but these guys are not considered DJ worthy in most cases so you either end up being a ghost producer or a fake DJ?!?! Sad state of affairs.

    Wait... "songS"?

I thought it was the same one being passed over until it dries and then a "new one" comes along.

Where do all the babies come from? You can either adopt or make your own.

If you are talking about the EDM scene and that's from all kind of dance music style, there's only a handful of DJ's who really produce themselves. Lots of tracks you hear in the scene are bought and you'd be surprised about the big names, some don't even know what a DAW is. Also there are plenty of groups who manipulate websites such as Beatport. They download your track for $5 US dollar and it takes about 200 to 300 downloads a day to get into the top 10, depending on genre (some take only 100 downloads).

It's also not only the producers/dj's using them but also (big) labels.

So, if you have the money = Buy good track & hire group to download = Getting gigs & $$$

    It's the hard truth.

If you were a musician instead of a DJ, you'd know where all the songs come from.

Why should frontmen, called "DJs", bother learning about music?
View it as a collaborative effort. It's called "music industry" for a reason.

Thats exactly whats happening. i'm pretty sure Trolley Snatcha did most if not all production on someones lp in 2014. Marin Garrix said he used to ghost for a record label, i want to say it was Spinnin. if you ask me all commercial music has ghost behind it. a friend told he was watching a hiphop producer on youtube and he didnt even now what an xlr cable was. but check this out @26:50...

Research shows that most modern hit songs come to us by way of stork. Usually appearing as if by magic during the long flight, they're a bit smelly and make babies cry until removed upon delivery and released into the world where it is aurally consumed and enjoyed by eager young listeners. :boombox:
