I have tried the Samplitude current releases & still have the same problems that surfaced with 15 onwards.

Tried the latest, Samplitude Studio 2021, to see if a lesser version would alleviate issues with CPU spikes while mixing & sluggish performance with Toontrack SD3. When SD3 is loaded & Sam is allowed to create separate tracks, system performance take a huge hit. As if each track is a separate instance of SD3.

Session has to be closed & Samplitude exited to resolve system instability.

When aux tracks are created manually & assigned, system performance is normal.

Magix still uses old Virtual C++ libraries. 2005 to 2008 runtimes are no longer supported by Microsoft yet, Magix continues to use them. Then there is the outdated bridging system.

I am sure if Magix eliminated bridging & updated to true 64bit operation, many issues would disappear.
The same can be said for Windows 10. True 64bit code to eliminate cross-code issues.

 

Couldn't come soon enough imho. Maybe they should just sell off the Pro Audio Software side to Microsoft or another company that can take the code & modernize it. Microsoft featured Magix Music Maker with consumer systems with Windows 8. Must have been some interest. This could help with their "creator" leaning Surface products.

Other than that, dump the legacy code and move forward.
