when is hip hop going to leave these clowns in the past?

I think the problem is in the mix: the sound engineer should mute the rappers microphone when they sing, their songs would improve a lot

Let me guess, you are some real MC who hasn't made it because of these fakeass clown MC's?
These rappers act intentionally so stupid and rhyme stupid shit. They don't want to sound smart.
You criticizing them for things they don't even want to accomplish. It's like criticizing a goalkeeper for not trying to score a goal. He doesn't want to score in the first place, his intention is to stay in his own goal.

Can I ask you one question? Who is your favorite rapper? What if I told you, that most of the songs ever created, are written by songwriters and not from the rappers?

You asking me why I personally don't rap in this climate and prefer to keep my 70k/year day job while I finish school and choose to mix and produce on the side and take my chances? You must be young.

The world is a lot deeper than what we see and how we think about it pre-education. Songwriting, Poetry and understanding the world around you is not overnight as it is an osmosis process.

We didn't know of the things we are made of until we digged deeper and developed tools to allow us to see them and we still don't fully understand. Hell our eyes don't even truly see what reality actually is because when we use infrared lenses the world looks completely different doesn't it?

We are taking life and what we have for granted.

Underneath it all it is just a problem of dummies following dummies on what success is by acting "hard af" because they think that's what will bring them success but in reality a lot the same rappers are truly just plebs where any random person can punk them and spin them underneath their finger like a basketball just for a good laugh.

What Jake is saying those rappers need to stay in their lane & not try to get into talking about things they've never done. Where people are truly doing real gangster shit who are truly rapping about the lives that they live. You ever notice these same rappers that rap about killing & shit are also not making songs about how shitty it was to do time behind bars. Because they've never done it.

You know who is probably killing people? They're militant, they don't want to rap about it.

If you've never been in the real hood then you will never see what's wrong with gamer of the year acting like he's been to Baghdad.

Lets also not leave out the point that RAP means Rhythm and Poetry.

If you have a strong message & you can also deliver it well.

Then that means in the matter of a few bars you can tell a lot of truth & you can peel peoples eyes in the same time it takes you to blow it out ya ass.

Follow me? This means hip hop by default is powerful so it will also be attacked to bury true talent. There are facts from all sides on topics like these.

Don't believe me? There you go, real Hip-Hop.

These people were luckily born into a life where they didn't have to commit crimes to survive and wanted to do music and be famous. I can respect that.

What I can't respect is them looking at their situation they were born into and saying dam, well I can't rap about where I'm from I was born wealthy... or I am too lazy to get educated to a point where I can dig deeper on my situation so I can therefore look at the world from a different perspective and angle so I can then come up with a dope concept to share to the world. So Ima get a face full of tattoos and rap about a fake street life, drugs and rented cars, hookers, and jewelry.

If they digged deep enough they would find that they actually do have a lot in common with the lifestyle they were born into that they are faking than that think.

We are talking about 6 million years of evolution boys. All complex situations and thoughts can be derived and compared.

No need to try hard to change subject and acting smart now, just tell me who these real rappers are who don't lie or rap about cars, women and fake shit and who aren't in it because of the money. Because I never heard of one as authentic as you claim. And if you also could elaborate why realness only in rap matters and not in Pop, EdM, Country or Rock, that would also be great. According to you faking shit in front of a video camera is okay, but faking shit in front of a mic is a no go. Pretty confusing concept if you ask me hope you can clearify that.

I know you want to sound smart but you making no sense at all and you only sound frustrated. It's not the fault of the rappers that their shit sells, it is the market who wants to consume that kind of rap.

Was Eifel65 really sad when they wrote blue?

Garth Brooks didn't have friends in low places when someone else wrote that song for him to record and perform.

Bruce Springsteen never worked in a factory.

The clown shit you speak of is the music and entertainment industry. Know there is always a veil.

Hiphop has always evolved but what we are witnessing is devolution imo. It no longer sounds like the raw hiphop I grew up with in the 80s to mid 90s when I bailed out as it was becoming far too robotic, bland, overproduced corporate deep state trash. I cant even listen to it nowadays, its all bass and no action with guys in their 20s sounding like they haven't even reached puberty. The sooner Trap and mumble is gone the better as that same irritating beat has been around far too long.

Hip Hop was started & will always remain the streets. That's the culture. Faking in front of a camera is acting, its a career choice. Acting is you being able to read different people & play their role believably.

Being a fake in front of your mic is you being a fake in front of your mic acting like you do shit that you don't. In hip-hop that's looked down upon.

If you're just a cornball who plays video games then why the fuck are you making songs about shit you've never done? It's the Souljah Boi effect.

A lot of what you are saying feels like a blind view of the world. Most American culture through the years hasn't shown all of America in its true form. There are countless successful black, and POC people who are scientists, authors, doctors, healthy families, affluent, etc. Let's acknowledge that for a moment. This is so much bigger and deeper than a few rappers that people don't like.

Why you wanna tell people what kind of music they should make? Freedom of speech stops as soon as you stay in front if a mic and a 808 starts playing?

This be real thing in hiphop is like that do not snitch thing. No one gives a fuck about these two rules only the ones who were never confronted with them act like they care about them.
Like: Here you have two million dollars just act stupid or like: you can have 120 years in prison or 2 if you snitch.
Everyone would make the same decision in these scenarios. Everyone who says otherwise was never in one of those scenarios.

Let people do whatever music they want, and if it's commercial successful good for them. You have plenty of different artists you can listen to.

I am still here because no one is answering my questions and you guys just circlejerking about these vague definition of authenticity to somehow justify your subject feelings as objective facts.

Why does only rap to be authentic and not Pop, EDM, Books, movies, tv shows, ads, radio shows?
Who has ever been authentic in the entertainment biz? Which rapper? What does authentic in music even mean? Maybe you just don't like the music personally and try to make up some objective facts to justify your personal taste?

to make the big gangsta while coming out bell air is a fckn joke .
And yeah that edm arist you have in mind are in fact 10.000 times more real than some lean sipping top of the pop's hip hoper .
