whats this sound/instrument? (ethnic/world)

    hey guys

    at 0:18 in


    there's this hollow kind of filtered instrument/sound. anybody got a clue what it is? the beginning of it sounds like a rainstick but need help deciphering the second sound at 0:18

    It could be either guitar harmonics-ish or some synth FX.,

    its just a guitar pedal . to give you some info, all instruments and recording stuff are bought in pawnshops , he wanted to use only old stuff

    Or use a synth pluck, 2-3 delays with different times and levels, and a filter.
    To make it sound like the above, you'll have to play around with the delay and filter settings.
    A flanger in between might help get the "warbly" sound.
