yes I have tried a few, there are a ton out there. mediamonkey is nice, that might be the best one. Anyone know of something better for advanced tagging of audio files?

I use Mp3tag. Supports pretty much all tag formats, allows for scripting/macros, can set artist/album in batch, delete useless tags in batch, flexible converting between title and filename. It can do a lot. If there's something better I've yet to find it. It's how I set up all my releases and album art. And clean up my personal music collection.

I haven't tried those yet, mediamonkey is pretty cool too. which of those is the most powerful full featured advanced "ROBUST" software? I like saying ROBUST, had to get that in there..

I'll compare soundminer with mp3tag and mediamonkey

I actually downloaded that one, and it DOES look very cool and ROBUST....they focused on the functions not a fancy GUI I guess. I did like that one alot, that might be the champion here, you may be right.

meta tagging songs. yes meta tagging.

mp3tag is excellent for tagging I have not found anything better yet.

mediamonkey is more of a player, but it does do some tagging.

I'm still kinda looking out for other options, but mp3tag works for now.

Depending what I am doing I've used Foobar2000 and dbPoweramp the most.

Tagz Scripting is good in Foobar for doing batch work and moving stuff about I've found.

Dbpoweramp integrated into windows shell is handy when wanting to tag stuff while working.
