Gullfoss then a limiter. Usually Fab-L2, sometimes Elevate, then Pro-L2

Sonarworks and Mcompare are on a lot, but I don't think we need to count that. That's just room correction and references.

Two other things that will come on every now and then is Ozone Tape or Fab-Saturn. If I don't do those early in the mix, slapping them on at the end never sounds better to me.

Interesting. Could you explain why you put the Tape plugin before the Multiband comp? Is it to tame what the tape plugin ads?

It honestly is a good plugin. Use it very subtle. I rarely go over 20% with recover and tame. Really opens up the mix.

Looks like a lot of people are trying to fix a lacking mix by piling stuff on the 2 bus.
If you're "mastering" using the same speakers that you mixed on, then you're not mastering you're just trying to fix mistakes you made earlier at the track level.
Mixing into a multiband or stereo widener from the start is a clear sign that you're probably not good at mixing, but I guess as long as you're having fun that's all that matters.
    Just my opinion.

    That's not quite right, imho.

Mixing and mastering on the same monitors is possible, even if mastering would benefit from an additional pair. But if you have decent nearfields, why not?
Adding a linear phase low cut, a stereo widener to narrow the low freqs or an EQ to give the whole mix a bit more shine is often easier and faster to be done than in the single tracks.
Last no least the dynamics. Adding a bit of compression to glue the whole mix togehter or a final limiter has nothing to do with fixing mistakes.

easier and faster? Maybe. Better? I don't think so.

It seems like a lot of people would agree with you but in general it's one of the reasons why sound quality is getting worse instead of better, even though we have better tools available than at any other time in history.
the words "easier and faster" rarely ever mean better. But this is the world we live in.

Also, like I said earlier I do put a couple things on the 2 bus but if I didn't put anything on the master I still make sure that the mix could stand alone. Eqing and artificial stereo manipulation and stuff like that comes out cleaner if done at the track level, but I agree it's not faster, and since a lot of people don't seem to be concerned about things being cleaner then I guess YMMV

Actually, the multiband comp i dont put in every mix (maybe 90% of the time, cause i like what it does, but not always), i put it before automation, or when im levelling the vocals. I put after the tape because i mix into it since the beginnig, i see it like saturation, not like a real tape workflow you know? I need to try it before the tape to see if i like it better, thanks for the idea hahahaha

I just add what I was use to in the analogue world so the best I can find that replicates that is Nebula Alex.B 4K Dynamics (SSLcomp) and Noiseash pultec (smiley face eq). The wealth of stacked plugins people are going for here it's a wonder the mix can even breath at all.

Hype. It's ok. it's cheap. It's a pultec. It's just another tool. They all pretty much do the same thing. In the context of a mix it really doesn't matter which one you use as long as it gives you the results you aim for. Listeners don't care if you use the UAD, Waves, Softube, or brand xyz's version of it.

You may want to check out Acustica Purple. Or Titanium. I chose Purple for my Pultec duties.
