the pitch correction aided vibrato is very in-your-face, pretty much all over the song.

 

That was horrifying. That was as natural as having sex with a reanimated corpse. Whoever was responsible for trying to tune that, and then deeming the results fit for consumption should be hauled up on charges.

 

The YouTube video comments are interesting.

That's actually his own natural tremolo (volume modulation), rather than vibrato (pitch modulation). Characteristic Post Malone.

If you want to re-create it in post, add a tremolo plugin with fast rate (and sine) and automate the amount. If you want to do it naturally with your voice, spend a few years with voice coaches, practice and hone in on that tremolo.

His mom forgot to wipe the crayon off his face after daycare, but yeah I´m pretty sure that´s actually him singing like that. There was similar singing artist in 60´s or 70´s, just can´t remember who it was. It wasn´t Demis Roussos..

 

It's a powerful tool for conveying emotion, but it does sound like some kind of electronic gadget.

I do think it's natural singing voice. Some Singers can use their tongue too with their vocal instrument for creating beautiful sounds and I can't even whistle

 

He sounds a bit more polished in the studio.

You are absolutely right and spot on, but u missed the big picture, more people esp. people who act stupid and ignorant and looking like a fucking muppet have a big fan base these days. Its what they use that fan base for, and in music buss. oh boy there are a load of people who love to promote music, which might even sometimes be written entirely by someone else, and use these ppls fanbase as a cover. Bcauz releasing a music under someone who is not very well known, as opposed to releasing it under these ppls guise earns much more. Bcauz the people who listen have no idea what they are listening to, and people who care what they listen dont care about these.
And it will get worse in future.
I dont listen and have ever listened to his or will ever listen to his music, the only thing i saw with him was in a movie dude had good role in it, and it just became one of my fav. movies.
