Which is nearly always better than being given the willies
Working on something new, which has taken priority for the moment, but have strong thoughts on the lyrics for this, so will probably have them down soon enough

Your voice is better than mine, so don't sweat it.
And you don't need an AL1 robot to sing for you like I do

Don't know if I'm abusing the thread, but I read about that "listening to a cool groove in loop". I experience it everyday. And the bad thing is that at some point you are so much into it, that you can't work on other parts or build a song structure. The loop is too apparent. I hate it, I know it's wrong, but still, it happens to me.
A tip from me: Sometimes you create something in a few hours and you think that it's the biggest hit ever made. If that happens, stop working on it immediatly. Wait two days, work on other projects or have a nice time with your family. After two days, listen to it again. You won't experience it as the biggest hit anymore, but if you still think it is really good, continue working on it. If not, have the balls to throw it away. If you ignore this tip you'll end up like me, with a library of thousands of 4-16 bars ideas that will never make it into a song.

It means a lot when you are unsure of yourself and your abilities, so Thank You.

@subGENRE , Thank you! Vocals need to be reworked some, I feel. Then I plan on automating volume and effects for the first time. I just got my hands on a Mackie Ultramix that I want to see if I can incorporate it into my workflow. But for a mostly static mix, I think it's turned out pretty dang good so far.

@tulamide , I completely agree with that. I got a Tascam DR-40 which I will go back to and dig through the ideas, and have crafted quit a few really good songs from ideas that I would have completely forgotten otherwise. For guitar player song writers, that DR-40 or any handheld recorder is a really good tool to capture inspiration immediately while it's happening.

O.K. This is the verses split by one chorus, just to see how it works. So what I'm asking is does the chorus fit with the verses.
You'll notice that my voice sounds somewhat different, due to the fact I've got the mic facing the right way this time.
Thanks @digitaldragon for the tip. I'm also singing across the mic and not into it (need to get a pop filter).
Excuse the bad singing in the chorus, having trouble with that because if I try and hold the note I start warbling a bit.

@The Teknomage, It's getting better. Vocals are more pronounced. A DIY pop filter could be made with a wire coat hanger and some pantyhose, until you can get one. No fishnet, though.
I think in the chorus, take the melody to a different place. Add some dynamic to it by going to a higher register. It would help separate the two parts and make them more distinguishable. Sometimes I'll write the melody on an instrument and try to get near that vocally.
Of course, these are just my opinions. What I would artistically do which may vary greatly from the direction you are trying to go in.

Oh! Dam! I've only got fishnets.
For some reason my sequencer dicided that it wanted to play the bass sounds from the verse section in the chorus section. Will have to loook into it tomorrow.
That should scare the neighbours. I think they think I'm made anyway, as I always work in headphones, so all they can hear is my voice.
At the moment my Prophecy is plugged into the RM1x as a midi keyboard. Once I've got the basic arrangement set up I'll be able to use that seperately in the chorus, so that should help too.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback. I'll see how I go in tomorrows session.

    Your welcome, @The Teknomage .

I've been waiting for someone to listen to Purr (the track I posted earlier) and tell me it desperately needs some keys in it, haha. I think it does. Opinions vary in the band though. And we don't currently have a keyboardist so I'd have to find someone to pinch hit. Any takers?

    Thanks that worked.

@digitaldragon i followed The Teknomage's advice and was able to listen. Very funky stuff i dig it. I agree with @The Teknomage though. I can hear some organ if it sounds to thin to you. Or maybe a second guitar with a wah pedal.

    Thank you, @Funk U!
There's a wah'ed guitar, I think panned right playing the same riff as the main guitar. I guess what I'm hearing is a horn or brass hit after the "When you rub her back" part and so on. Just some slight accentuation in there to add a little interest. But maybe I'm too close to it, and adding more would be actually less and it would detract from what's already there. :dunno:

Really, really appreciate the input everyone! This has turned into a nice post!

I think that the most important thing to be a good musician is to have his own style and personality, and especially don't make music just for money...
Everyone of us is different, and our music also, that's what I love. That is the cultural and tastes wealth.
