    Yes

There's never gonna be another like him.

    R.I.P. D: Drive.

Is there anyway to get the data on him ??

What happen is that my PC didnt wanted to open again after a blue screen, so i unplgged him and my pc boot back up.

So for sure he is the problem.....but i realy need to transfer all the date on a new one....is there any way of doing that ?

Its my 10 year Sample collection ( more then 100 GB of mostly drum samples and FX ) like the Doruma Laia FULL sample pack and such.....some real gold samples !!

So what are my option now ??

    Thanks !

Here you can read. And after lecture just search for data recovery from dead drives in your town.

Sorry for your loss, bruh. :(

I'm not quite sure of what you can do to salvage it, thats just me though. But once a few good folks here catch a glimpse of this topic, they'll be more than enough answers to you question. Just hang in there and google it if you can't wait for the cavalry to arrive.

Obviously that cannot be true, because otherwise you would have done at least one backup of them "gold samples". Important data - no backup - your own fault. *yes*

Sorry, but a lot of people have to learn that lesson the hard way.

There are some tools to recover data, I think somebody mentioned it before. If you dont know how this stuff work, try find a friend that do. Thats how I do it.

Kind of funny how personal you talk about your PC...
Perhaps all you ahve to do is get the harddrive, get a hdd reader and than you could read the data.

I hope you learned from that. How can somebody make music for 10 years and never think about making a BackUp???

    Thanks Someone.

I thought and did a couple time but not the recent stuff, wich must be a 20 gb of samples i guess

I also had a shit load of Flac albums and Tutorial in there. So i must have more then 200 GB of stuff in there that need to be taken out.

First let me say, I am sorry for your loss.
I know some people/businesses offer Data Recovery. However,
it doesn't mean they will be able to recover anything at all.
From now and on forward I would start Backing up your material
which you didn't wish to lose again.

    Good Luck

    @MArtel80-

hi man, sorry for your loss, it has happened to me so far with 4 drives in my lifetime, the last was a 1 terabyte monster with tons of movies, music, programs, midget porn, etc etc' (i had Cyclic Redundancy Check error)

    it fucking sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

luckily, there is a way for home users to extract the info without expensive third party fixing it for $$$-

you just have to spend a few dollars on a special cord- a Sata cable,

first, you have to remove the actual drive from the external case- Then plug the HDD into a computer via SATA cable, or into an external docking station if you have one available. Now you should be able to see your files again!!! I would recommend copying the files to a new drive as soon as possible in case it corrupts further

Then if you can't see it in Windows you can try Ubuntu

if this doesnt work, check this out:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp1MUqMHWZY

alternatively, you can always google on youtube :"how to extract files from a corrupted external hard drive"

    GOOD LUCK MAN!!!!!

*Edit, you dont have to be so douchey with the members, i know you are upset right now so i forgive you, losing hard drives are traumatic for sure. but you dont have to treat other members disrespectfully, they are helping in their own way

again and again, always make sure you watch your hard drives!

run tests once in a while, check SMART, replace your drives after 5 years of use.

there are two restoration utilities that i know should work, but since i use advices above, i never had to try them:
    ASEUS Data Recovery Wizard
    R-Studio

the only good thing about HDD crash is that next time you will take measures to prevent it.

hard drives die sooner or later, the smartest thing u can do is creaating a disk image with some softwarre like acronis, and possibly store the backup online so u don t depend on another physical drive to recover it,this will allow u to sleep well at nite

    what make of hard drive?

I had a hard drive failure about 18 months ago, (seagate I think) and I was able to get a free replacement due to a manufacturing fault, check the hdd website

but Saint is correct, 5 years is about the limit before a hdd start to show signs of wear and tear, especially if used everyday

I've never had any real success with Data Recovery Programs. So I can't recommend any sorry.
It's a very long slow process. I just just bit the bullet and threw the thing out.

Someone mentioned Acronis. Awesome product that has saved me/others countless times.
Make an image and stick it in a cupboard (not left on the same PC).

Or if you don't want to backup yourself, look into RAID. Set up a mirror at least.

Before you give the disk to a professional data recovery center and pay millions of dollars, you should try a tool like "Ontrack Easy Data Recovery". I always use it when I have a damaged Hard Disk. The only thing that is required is that you still have access to the disk (if the controller is defective and your BIOS doesnt recognize the disk even this software wont rescue anything). If its just the MBR or FAT or TOC or whatever that is corrupt or missing or just a few bad sectors it works fine!
