    Hi , can anybody help me to find the Scale of this Guitar Loop ?

    iam sure its a Fm-C-Gm Chord Progression , Scaler says it could be an F melodic minor Scale .

    But when i play with a VST Instrument in this Scale over this Loop , everything sounds out of Pitch or something .

    Usually key detectors just check the keys used in a sale, so it says Fm.
    However, I loaded wav in slow downer, and I can say with a good probability that's a (badly detuned - about 50cents up) mixed C tonic based scale.

    Play along chords C then Fm, it's basically a (minor) plagal cadence (I-iv-I) with some passage notes, C-Fm-C, better Fm in 2° inversion (C,F,Ab).

    Use the following trick to see what's the tonic: play along C note (candidate I) and you'll get the release feel, something that you don't have playing along F note.

    you youngsters digging too much with apps, tricks and iZotope RX :)

    it cant be "harmonic minor" because the VI note it's a natural D (as the Gminor chord states)

    here's the the notes with the triads built on every step

    F - G - Ab - Bb - C - D - E
    I II III IV V VI VII

    F= F minor triad
    G= G minor triad

    Ab= Ab major triad
    Bb= Bb major triad
    C= C major triad
    D= D dim triad
    E= E dim triad

    the 3 chords you need are on this scale, which is an F melodic minor

    Yeah but if you play along in F harmonic minor, it sounds right. If you play along in F melodic minor, it sounds wrong. (especially that D..) :)

    I'm going to upload a clip showing the chord sequence, based on C aeolian scale, that by chance, is the same as Fm melodic ascending, except tonic, first grade of course.

    What Scale
    1) played along;
    2) see difference with C as tonic or F as tonic (F just doesn't work);
    3) comparison ascending and descending Fm melodic and C aeolian major;
    4) plagal cadence, minor and then major for comparison (I-iv-I, I-IV-I).

    pretty fair my friend, I honestly didnt hear the file because I was in bed almost sleeping lol
    I just followed the statement "Gm - C - Fm"

    if it sounds harmonic minor, so the Gminor is a G dim, with a D flat
    incorrect clue from the thread writer : )
