    The first song is built on two chords : D and Bm7 (where you can use the D major scale-Ionian mode) and the 2nd one is Cm7(where you can use the Cm natural minor scale-Aeolian mode).Good luck.

    My posts are fuckin blank... lol Whats up w dat? Anyrate. I suggest the OP go buy a jazz theory book. Preferably by Mark Levine, George Russell or Barry Harris. There's no reward in being told something a simple as that.In order to become a musician you gotta want it.

    Learning to train your ears to figure that out on your own would be the best advice I can give you.
    I guess that I got lucky because my ears hear it as soon as I listen to a song.
