Huh. Well doesn't strike me as a stock sound that I've heard, could very well be something that somebody sampled themselves with a Fairlight or Emulator or whatever, but maybe someone will know!

(You could cheat and sample it yourself, it's pretty well isolated)

 

sounds like some standard fm sounds through some lower bitrate sampler to me

 

It definitely reeks of 8 bit. Could even be a Mirage.

 

Any other opinion?

 

They are metal cans samples, could be triggered by any means, keyboard, finger pads, drum pads, or also by sequencing.
(To me) they are not pertaining to a particular famous drum set.

If it was Simmons SDS5 (or sampled Simmons) you would recognize it immediately, like the bloody Firebird 8 bit orchestra hit of CMI.
