    Hey All,
I'm currently putting together a new build. I'm coming from intel and trying out AMD for the next build. What are some solid motherboard options that support Ryzen 3rd gen out of the box? The only one I know of at the moment is MSI b450 tomahawk MAX.
des Moines to Kansas city 350 euros to dollars

I won't have an AMD processor to use to upgrade the BIOS on boards that don't support 4th gen out of the box. Thanks in advance.

Any of the MSI B450 MAX boards will work with Ryzen 3000 series. Unless bios updates are released, B550 will be the next series for the Ryzen 4000 series. Any late 2019 X570 board should work with both unless AMD changes specs before release.

The MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX should be around €125.90 (France) - €172.12 (Belgium)

it is not actually ryzen 4th gen. it is actually zen 3. marketed as ryzen 4th gen. but even if you use b450 boards. it is totally okay to use it. why? because it is not the chipset that affects performance. and it is not affecting performance at all. And also the socket does matter here. it is AM4 socket. so new gen has not yet announced. so do not have to go for higher boards. because there are boards which costs you 350$ but gives you more or less performance and the temp is very less in msi b450 tomahawk compared to most of the boards. so stick with msi for b450 series. or go for x570 with asrock or gigabyte. or you can save money from board and invest in 1tb ssd (pcie 4) or more ram. or a good gpu. he he.
