    I use a M-Audio Keystation 49 MK3.

The reason why I chose it is because it's around 100 dollars (when I bought it) which is pretty good for me, it has 49 keys which is a lot of keys for me and I like that a lot, you can play basically 4 octaves. The keys are "semi-weighted" too. Comes with octave pitch changes aswell. It doesn't have any drum pads on it but I never would have used drum pads anyway since I'm not really into that, so this keyboard was perfect for me and exactly what I was looking for.

Advice of the century for me right there. Thanks for breaking my recent paradox. I use a Yamaha S08 as my Midi keyboard so I was torn since I need a midi controller but absolutely love the weighted keybed on my S08, hnng, don't have enough space & I'm too attatched to replace. So now I'm not going to adopt another big ass keyboard with a fully featured automation station into a fleeting space, with all the whistles of tubular bells.

I'm probably just going to get two of those old whatchamacallits? Behringer fader & knob slabs, then call it a day? Fuck yeah, glad I got on today.

    Oh det wet dae called.

    Im gonna need two'wa'dems.

yes, it's the keyboard that "for the price" i'd like to get.. i can't find anything about how it behaves with fl studio, and those 3 "joysticks" don't convince me much.. i'd combine it with a launchpad and a controller with faders, play, stop etc.. do you use it with daw? kontakt?
yes, the opinions make me happy, however even if someone doesn't give explanations there are no problems! it's also just for a chat.. sorry "and thank you..." my google translator! :)

heyy.. thanks for all these replies.. :mates:

It's also about anyone who will read this thread. Listings can be found in Web stores . At Audiosex, we prefer useful, experienced, and detailed information.

yep told you last year Roland stopped production as it went unlisted on MusicStore (looks like i got the last device from them as it went unlisted just as mine was shipped). You can use it without any software as it works perfectly fine with default windows 10 driver (driver should also work fine on win11). Any velocity and other changes can be made easily on the device itself as the menu's are very easy to reach upon reading the manual.

Fine device - would buy again.

I think it depends on the Daw you're working with. For example, I have an Akai MPK249 that comes with scripts for almost every DAW, but the one for Ableton which I use is terrible and makes almost all the features of the controller useless. Pads, faders and knobs are of good quality but the lack of integration makes the whole thing pointless for my use... So, yes you should buy a keyboard you're comfortable with first, and then look at the extra features/daw integration and consider getting an another controller for knobs, pads, automation stuffs.

I am also an A800pro person. Didn't even now they were no longer making them. I like that it is bus powered, no wall warts but tbh if I am looking for key feel it's not the thing I would pick.

I've trialed an A-88 mk2 a few years and it was nice but returned it as I found a used rd-2000 for a few hundred dollars more locally. That's what I am using now when i want something with some weight and feel on it or just don't feel like powering up a computer and a program just to play something.

Honestly, unless you really need the advanced controls a dedicated controller can provide I would recommend a used stage piano. I tend to use the A800 the most when doing DAW stuff anyway. Weighted keys on synths and organs just seems like doilies on Bauhaus furniture. To each his own though.

Obviously no, but this was meant as a joke right? A little bit of humor is not bad.
But as OP, if you want a listing, let's do it. Calling @BEAT16

joke or flame provocateur doesn't bother me. but for the "professional standards" you ask for in answers from users, i pointed out to you that this answer was not "useful, experienced, and detailed".
i "don't want" anything.. after all, this is a forum! no one should expect to find "the truth".. this is not a service center, and you probably won't find advice from the ghost of mozzart! therefore "I" don't think there are problems if 40 people answer more or less in detail and 5 people make lists or joke.. but the forum is yours, your rules..

    You are right.
OK. But a all forums dont have be necessarily like Fakebook.
If members are a bit concious, and control their ego, it is possible to have things useful and practical for musicians.

But, we should speak about that using PM, as we are going off topic lol ...

no need.. you are a moderator and you have your reasons.. if everyone started answering like a google list, the forum would have no reason to exist!
@playtime @MINIGUNPUNK @Citrik Acid @Brainphrozen and all those who want to answer, what daw do you use?

ps. i love "and hate" fl studio.. i can't use anything else, but the users who used to "joke" us before are not entirely wrong! without saying things already said, this daw is a joke.. 4 out of 5 plugins don't even mention it in the compatibility.. "not that they don't work, but at least mention it out of respect lol.." and now that i'm learning more about midi keyboards that can integrate well with the daw.. meh.. it's a tragedy! maybe studiologic, not having many controls and maybe mk2 with some scripts scattered on the internet? I envy those who have learned to use ableton!

I use 2 ancient Roland keyboards, one I've had since Reagan was POTUS! I love the feel of the vintage Roland keyboards but haven't used the built-in sounds for decades. Currently using Presonus Studio One 6 DAW (with Sphere Subscription) and Analog Lab V for sounds / sequencing.

    JUNO-106 purchased new 1985 for around $700
HS-60 Synth Plus 60 - Uses same keyboard as the JUNO-106. Found it leaning against trash can 5 years ago. Replaced torn speakers and fixed cold solder joints to repair to like new condition!

Both keyboards sit on my trusty 2 tier Manfrotto Stand Innovations A frame and are connected to recording PC through a MiDiPLUS Tbox 2X2 USB MiDi interface.

This setup has been bulletproof from day one, never had a single problem. Just wish I could say the same about my DImYself MiDi drumkit connected to a Yamaha DTXpress 'brain' and Superior Drummer 3 in same Studio One 6 DAW. IMG_20220831_134207.jpg

I'd like very much to hear experienced opinions about this one too.
I like the controls it comes with. But I wonder how well or bad the necktarine program works, specially to prepare the keyboard for VSTi synthesizers control.

Native Instruments KOMPLETE KONTROL S61 MK2. Since mid-2021.

The hardware is robust (despite the most left C key a bit noisy - I'm not alone to have this problem), love the touch-feeling of Fatar mechasnism. But without KOMPLETE KONTROL, the hardware is very limited concerning standalone features (no integrated arpeggiator, very basic MIDI only). Software compatibility against VST3 is catastrophic (most non-NI plugins crash, unacceptable during 2023). NI developers seem lazy. Cannot save keyboard split points in NKSF, same for light guide setup...

Good points are nice integration in Bitwig Studio 4 (via external free plugin made by DivenByMoss), and REAPER (also via 3rd-party free plugin, ReaKontrol).

    Globally, I'm enjoyed about it.
