I would like to know what app is used to make this tutorial vid that is a capture of his screen + sync'd audio.

It's mainly the screen capture in video is what I'm after.
Of course any app that does the same thing would be fine.. just seeking something I can find to download and get going quickly.
Preferably a "free" app with no demo restrictions, watermarks or other limitations or annoyances.

This is a virtual audio driver that you should use in your Daw.

I use both, because at virtual audio cable 4.0.1 is the Audio Repeater program that you need to repeat your audio And then you can record your sound from your DAW and windows simultaneously.

and i use Camtasia the program what Xsze shows.

not sure what guitarie is talking about with virtual cables etc...

i use camstasia and it picks up the audio from my DAW without a problem while recording the screen!

 

hey remix,

most external soundcards use there own driver and can't be used at the same time.
that means that you can't play and record at the same time with your driver of your soundcard.
i think that you are the lucky one that has a soundcard that can record and play at the same time.
with soundcourd do you use???

i use btw emu 0204 usb and 2x focusrite 18i6 as my soundcards.

This Camtasia might do the trick for now.
I tried to install the audio patcher, but failed to understand how... I may have to revisit it another time in how to get the patcher to record audio from my DAW in sync with the capture.

Right now, I'm simply trying to do some simple vids that do not require audio from my DAW.. I can just use a mic for now.. or none at all and just use captions.

I think I might have found a key that works for Camtasia.. at first it did not seem to work, but then when I opened it up again, it seems to be working in full mode.. so we'll see.

 

audio : if u have some DAW product from Steinberg u can also use the ASIO DirectX Full Duplex driver which comes with it



it works for me perfectly (without any glitches) with Camtasia without any additionally trick

 

Just a side note for new ASIO driver users, close ALL browser windows down, they have a habit of taking over the audio

only i was just testing ASIO DirectX Full Duplex, but then my Virus ti2 is just out of sync.
what do you prefer to make music? asio4all or ASIO DirectX Full Duplex?

 

If you're having problems with multi audio inputs in windows.....you can use Jack!

 

You can do it like me, but your sound card must support Stereo Mix.
I set output only in ASIO4ALL, set monitoring on microphone input and use stereo mix in Camstudio.

 

Another screen recorder plus the option of web deployment is adobe Captivate
Some ppl use it for creating flash/ js interactivity in their tuts where video is embedded
For web deployment sometimes can be a bit cheesy but it does the trick

 

Techsmith is a beast with screen recording! I rock Camtasia and Snagit. Snagit is the best imo. Also use virtual cables for my I/O both with video recording, gaming, and radio dj'n.

.Note that you have to keep a close eye on your underuns and overuns.
