So-called "new" genres by talentless ego trippers with bad haircuts and fake names that fool the vast majority of idiots who listen to "product".
McDonalds for the ears of scheisskopfs
Just like last year and the year before...
    If it's trendy, it sucks:winker:

At least in hip hop the 2000s are coming back I think .
RnB beats like B2k or even those classic 50 Cent Scott Storch club banger beats!

It'll be more of the same ol', same ol'. Nothing new. Trap, pop and country will rule the charts.

you beat me to it. I was going to say hyperpop was coming in strong but that has also been my prediction for the last 2 years so .. :dunno:

really what I think I meant when making that prediction was that Brakence (hyperpop artist but good) was gonna blow up and by doing so introduce the mainstream and normies to the genre. for any new genre/subgenre to pop it always takes that single artist thats kindof the "bestof" representing it to blow up in the mainstream and then floodgates open.. think hawthorne heights for the screamo thing and fallout boy for emo.

checkout brakence if you haven't already though. talented kid.

I don't even know what's the difference between techno, house, etc. lol, but I just hope that my favourite metal bands that have been around for decades will stop abusing drum samples and synths in their tracks when you can't tell one instrument from another, when kick and snare and vocals dominate the mix and you can't hear anything else clearly. they've been doing it for several years already. :( so i hope that good old metal becomes popular again, when you can easily hear and track drums, percussion, bass, guitars, orchestral instruments or whatever in the mix.

I see a global genre without autotune because this one will be afflicted with sarscovtune virus and all the lame singers will disappear in their own asshole.

Pagan, NeoFolk and Atmospheric Black Metal sounds nice, yeah you right.

There are so many nice sounding records thought. I fuck heavy with pre war blues, delta blues and shit like that which cross over with soul, jazz and funk where some are just borderline pop records sometimes if you veer off the prewar blues path. So there is never a shortage of "nice" sounding music.

What there is always a shortage of is dark heavy music, imo. Not necissarily even evil, just dark. Like Dark Ambient, not evil but most certainly not filled in with a pink crayon any time soon. But pop, classical and whatever other genre is everywhere and there is tons of it ranging way further back than the inception of metal since all the nice genres eventually gave birth to rock which gave birth to the bastard child that is metal. So there is way more of nice, if nice is what you want.

Metal doesn't have the same amount of history as nice music and since nice music existed longer then it has definitely influenced even more modern music by it. So you have the history and all the modern nice music to find which is a whole hell lot of music to discover. But we have to still look far and long for the darker records we find because we don't have nearly the same amount of history and weight on the scale as nice music does. Even when searching within metal, it's often very hard for me to find the very dark records I want because sometimes metal isn't dark at all either which sound too nice for my liking.

Moombahton is Reggeaton and House. It's actually kind of interesting to be below 130 BPM for a little while and they also have vastly different rhythmic patterns so, idk how it's exactly like house although they do crossover. I think all these genres you name are to just help people find the flavor of house they want so it's easier to get what you want and not have to sift through soulful house if that's not your thing.

I think if every brand of house was called house that would be a disaster which is why people have subgeneres. You won't believe the amount of 12 year olds searching heavy metal, instead only to find some glam metal like Bang fuckin' Tango when they actually wanted some Deathcore like Chelsea Grin which they heard at their buddies house after skew. But they didn't know that heavy metal isn't actually heavy pre-googa-search-term-blues and that it doesn't directly represent all of metal just cause his dads handle bar goatee loves himself some glam metal from time to time doesn't mean his son will will be Slipknoting that shit all year anytime soon.

Yeah, always has been but it's going to be more prominent, and the young kids are getting into it again.

Even stuff like this is picking up music awards in the UK

And bands like Turnstile have gone from nowhere to Grammy nominations inside a year.

As a guitarist, and a very good one at that, unless it's something original and not just a cliched, generic, re-brand, re-hash of something that's gone before, what's the point? Can't remember the last time I heard a new guitarist and thought, YEAH! I know there must be some out there somewhere.

The next big genre wave that will sweep the world will be be a combination of country and rap. It will be called Crap and it will be the shit. I can smell it in the air and coming on fast leaving skid marks in our shared musical trousers, and as it covers the world we will all be in it until the next genre drops it's load...and too perhaps Doom Metal will be killing it.

You mean surely with what music can make a lot of money? It's not getting better, rather worse, it's because the beautiful new digital software instruments already contain prefabricated sounds. You don't have to learn much anymore, the masses are already dumbed down anyway. As long as the masses buy the garbage, there will be garbage.

Today everything is marketing, there are even people who are paid for positive reviews and for clicking. Look at the advertising, there are sold feelings and emotions. Music is a product, a beautiful voice - a pretty face and the rest of the music is done by professionals.

The Top 100 is the nightmare of every person who knows something about music. A reflection of the disintegrating quality.

Soon the AI will come and take over the rest of creativity as well.
People like us here with musical taste, will only listen to old music. At best, you make your own music.
