It's a MemoryMoog. But there's something... off about it. Could it be prototype??

I have no idea, but it's very strange. What you say is true, it could be a prototype.

what is "off" about it? You can see the ID plate all the way to the right side of it at 55 seconds. It could be a MemoryMoog Plus, but they look almost identical. This video is from only 1 year after the end of the MemoryMoog production. A lot of these live videos from the era are so dark, it makes id'ing synths way more difficult than it would be otherwise.

Yeah I know but the button layout is wrong. I had a MM for 20 years. Either the light is so weird it's making buttons look flat or that thing is laid out differently. Like, I don't see the buttons under the LFO section.

Edit- ok, I do. They do disappear in some angles but in one shot I see it. Wild.

Angle of view, dark view and bad quality HIDE buttons ... that's why it looks strange

You see what crappy recording AND crappy compression do to image quality here

    Compression simply "removed" the buttons.

Look at this one in 1080p forced

Yeah that's the old MemoryMoog. I used to use one to record with back in '84. I loved it, but it did have tuning problems with the oscillators.
I believe GForce has a VST of it.

These 80s videos are really bad for this. We were trying to id some synths in a Jeanne Michel Jarre live video in another thread here and it was full of some very *interesting guesses due to the lighting.

This artist on the keys anyway was involved in some serious projects, so it would not be beyond imagination for him to have had access to a prototype Moog, but the SL8 was the next polysynth they were working on. Even if it was just a wrong ID plate, this looks pretty different. looks like this:
