Spire is just a marketing shit for the kids which are noobs in the sound design and in the music production at all. :excl: You must to reconcile with this fact *yes*

No Spire is a synthesizer and can be used to design all kinds of sounds like any other synth. What does marketing have to do with anything? Not everyone is driven by marketing and I'm sure people can make up their own mind about it's merits. MusicRadar gave it 4 1/2 stars and tons of people like it here...people with plenty of talent in production and sound design so really it's just your misinformed opinion based on not a single fact. Just say that you don't like it because it doesn't fit your needs but that doesn't mean it can't fit someone else's. Blanket statements like "it's for kids and people that are new to sound design and production" aren't even remotely true. *no*

What is wrong with Windows 8, you ask?

This article sums it up very nicely:

@mr x, spire was quick to learn. first day I made 5 or 6 good sounds from init. that's more useful thank i6 for sure

Well. Sound Diver by emagic was pretty awful stability-wise. :)
Then, the Morgana by 112dB was quite wonky...
Empty Room Systems stuff was pretty bad overall.
Way Out Ware arp2600 was a horrible, horrible synth.

Other than that, I tend to forget the bad stuff, naturally.

But the guy hating on Spire should have his head checked. Sure, it may sound like a synth geared towards modern EDM market, but that's just because most soundsets are geared towards "imaproducer" kids. It's an excellent-sounding piece of kit. We even bought it when it came out.

windows 8.1 is woking fine for me, made Cubase 8 much more efficient but thats all really do on it, that and some video and diablo 3 now and again.

iTunes never really worked right for me ever. slow and laggy
    SONAR was a nightmare
Massive V1...one instance cost me 75% CPU power um no (it has gotten much better with updates)

And OMD is a great band, given what they had to work with. if they came out today then yea

any of those gawdawful kontakt libraries put out by that used car salesman who calls himself studiolinkedvst. "guys, if your lookin for the hottest lieberry around, take a look here".

it's almost like he samples everything through a $3.00 radio shack microphone.

Chicken Systems Translator Pro . . . never works, crashes, freezes, and when I talk to them on the phone they are condescending.

    I love Samplitude.

For me it's gotta be the FXpansion stuff. I uninstalled it all before I even gave it a serious demo. BFD3 crashes more than it works. The synth squad stuff is supposed to be pretty good but I'll never know because the interfaces give no hint as to wtf you're supposed to do with them. I don't mind breaking the manual out but I should at least be able to do some things without it.

I will say that the new Strobe interface (per a thread posted on here) looks much much better.
